Well I really liked the first one and wasn't sure about this new remake/sequel. But after seeing it, it was very good. I never really read the Comics and only remember little things from the tv show, but it did seem to connect much more to canon than Ang Lee's Hulk ever did. I also wasn't sure about the new cast but they more than hold their own. I loved the performances and chemistry between Bana/Connelly and Norton/Tyler matched it; in fact they show more personality and emotion than Bana and Connelly. Both Sam Elliot and William Hurt have done excellent jobs as General Ross and I think their performances are equal. Hard to compare storyline's, but Incredible Hulk definitely has more action, which is to be expected since Ang Lee's version is more of an origin story and this one isn't. I'll probably rank both films about the same, because there are aspects of Ang Lee's version I loved (all the performances including Josh Lucas and Nick Nolte as well, the more dramatic style, the comic book panel editing) but this new version has more action and is more enjoyable as a fun piece of entertainment (is serious but has lighthearted moments). I loved the Stark cameo at the end. And my favorite line: "HULK SMASH!!"
I guess I need to see Ang Lee's Hulk. I never was big into comics, either. I often wonder how I know what I do know about superheros....which is certainly a lot more than the average person. A love of cartoons, superheros in general, and toys when I was a kid is probably what did it.
great movie, these little clips at the end are getting me hyped on a blockbuster superhero collabo movie lol
Well it was better than the other version. still not sold on the cgi hulk though, but what cha gonna do.
Ok, just got back. Honestly I didn't think the movie was that good. And if I weren't a comic book fan I would've like it even less. But the final fight scene was incredible and worth the price of admission alone. It was very lengthy for a showdown too. It's worth seeing once.
I just realized how that sounded. I meant he was IN the movie. That really made my movie trip. Considering the low interest I have in Hulk, this movie was great because I was actually into it. CGI Hulk is not that bad. Sometimes, it looked better than some of those Spider-Man scenes
this was a lot better than the eric bana version...that really sucked Spoiler i liked how the hulk was actually a decent size and not like 30 ft tall like the previous version
I saw it yesterday as well. It was fast paced, never a dull moment. CGI Hulk was great, better than Shrek in Ang's version. All of you people who bashed the movie back in March before it even came out are ****ing stupid.
haven't been paying much attention to this movie, but is it a continuation of Ang Lee's Hulk or a totally new franchise like Batman Begins?
Captain America is going to be in "The First Avenger: Captain America" on May 6, 2011. This will be like a kickoff of The Avengers movie a couple months later. I'm pretty sure Captain America, Thor (June 2010), Iron Man, and Hulk will be in it due to having movies of their own. Wasp and Antman most likely as well as I expect the same group of characters as the Ultimate Avengers Cartoon.
Thank you! Bana is a horrendous, wooden actor. So you'd go between a walking corpse, talking about his emotions (is this Dawn of the Dead, I thought), to a CGI furious green unreal looking cartoon. Great. And worse than the dogs, if that's possible: the Hulk's flea-like leaps in the desert. WTF was that! Insider information as to why Ang Lee's Hulk was even worse than it might have been: when working with ILM in the motion capture suit, Lee insisted that he do all the Hulk motions! ILM was all like "well, we thought we'd get an athlete, like a track and field disc hurler or something," and Lee is all like "no, it must be me." And the people working the motion capture said he was uncoordinated and all his moves looked lame, but they had to use that to animate the Hulk. Just a disaster of a movie, IM(N)HO. I watched it with a friend and about five other people. There was this little kid who kept walking around the aisles and telling his mother "I'm bored. Can we go?" Perfect review.
