edward norton is great but this looks horrible. i actually thought the action in ang lee's hulk was fine; dude was freaking jumping so high it looked like he was flying, and he was throwing tanks around just like in the comics. maybe its just the trailer but it looks like banner embraces his alternate persona a little too easily. also wouldnt hurt to have a little more subtle dialog. "if i can control it, i can be a superhero!" i know thats not what he actually says but its what it comes off as.
I'm excited; I'll give it a shot. I disliked Ang Lee's version - it was a mediocre movie, but the length brought it down some more for me.
I've also read this and the final result seems like it's in major limbo right now. I'm guessing Norton is trying to steer this more towards Ang Lee territory while Marvel is leaning towards X-Men material.
No chance of that or even much of a story. It's directed by the same guy who did the Transporter movies.
I love Ed Norton, and I think the movie will be good, but the Hulk is just tough to make the hero of a movie. The best use of the Hulk for me was how he was used in The Ultimates (either a villain or a dangerous weapon that should only be let loose far from populated areas).

I don't think Edward Norton should be able to go around talking about how he wrote the movie if he wasn't willing to put his name on it as a writer (presuming Edward Harrison is his nom de scenarist). Not to mention that it devalues Zak Penn's contributions since Norton never talks about Penn writing any of it. Of course, Robert Downey, Jr. was just on Letterman crapping all over the guys who wrote "Iron Man", so I guess it's just a Marvel movie thing to crap on the writers.
Hopefully we'll be able to see Penn's draft and whatever changes Harriso...err Norton made. Not that long ago, Michael Chabon's draft of Spiderman 2 leaked out, but I've only skimmed the through a third or half of the first act. I kind of wish Marvel would stop going to Penn though. He's already worked on 2 X-Men movies, the awful Elektra movie, this one, and he's on Captain America, and The Avengers. He's like the Brian Michael Bendis of comic book movies.
I'm with you on the idea of spreading these things around to various writers. I think it opens up the possibility of new ideas, etc. But since Zak Penn once thought a joke of mine was funny, I will forever support everything he does.
It appears that the arbitrators at the Guild have ruled against Norton receiving any credit, so Norton's contributions amounted to less than 33% of the final movie, according to the arbitrators' decision.
You know, the minute he came on this movie it seems like he's had this attitude of "you are all lucky that I've deemed the comic book movie worthy of my association..." and without a previous credit that I'm aware of, he starts talking about re-writing the script, anyways, I'm happy to hear him getting put in his place a little bit.
While he doesn't have any previous writing credits, apparently he did an uncredited re-write for Frida (like Joss Whedon did an uncredited re-write for Speed) and helped his friend write the storyline for Keeping the Faith (not the most stunning of achievements). He does have a subsequent writing credit for Motherless Brooklyn, which like the Incredible Hulk is an adapted screenplay. According to his bio on IMDB he was going to be in Spawn, but he pulled out, and he was offered the Bruce Banner role in Ang Lee's Hulk, but he turned it down. I guess they are lucky that he decided to sign onto and stick with a comic book movie.
He also did a lot of work to edit together the version of American History X we all saw, after the director had a big falling-out with the studio
