Joss Whedon delivered, big time. If you haven't seen it, don't waste your time reading through opinions and reviews. It's simple. Go see it. ASAP. And pay for the 3D, it's worth it.

A little note on the 3D ... I liked how throughout most of the movie the 3D felt quite natural, rather than a hodgepodge of delirium-inducing craziness a la Transformers. Even in the big battle scenes my eyes never seemed to get tired of the 3D. The use of creative camera angles especially in the first half of the movie was pretty good too.

Wow. That was entertaining. While it may not challenge for the greatest superhero movie plot ever written (The Dark Knight may hold that title for a few decades), this is possibly the greatest superhero movie ever made, all things considered.

Just got back from it. Not really into superhero movies (there are exceptions like the Dark Knight series)

And wow. That was a great movie. Amazing action throughout. But the characters and dialogue really put it over the top. It is everything you would want in an action movie.

The plot is basic but solid enough and allows every character to develop a little and do what they do best.

Watched it in IMAX 3D and it was definitely worth it.

I should probably watch Captain America and Thor before I watch this, huh.

Someone else might feel differently but I don't think you need to have watched any of the previous movies.

Im a batman fanboy and this movie was better than the dark knight...not by much but it is. The Hulk put it over the top for me.

Not necessary, but those 2 movies do provide an awful lot of backstory for the main villain and the tech used to threaten the world. Re-watching them recently did make a lot of parts of the Avengers that much better for me.

Spiderman and X-men/Fantastic 4 are owned by Sony and Fox respectively..Marvel can't really do much for trying to put them in their movies.

Incredible Hulk at #2? THat was the sorriest piece of crap I've ever seen. The "days without becoming hulk at the beginning and end" thing was stupid as hell.

I think I might of miss something..
How did Bruce Banner be able to control Hulk in the last fighting scene (when he pulled up in the bike). He just went ape **** earlier on the "plane."

The plane part was the aberration, since he was able to control the Hulk by the end of The Incredible Hulk. Not sure why he lost it there.

Saw it. I probably came at least 5 times in the movie. I'm putting my vote in for the best superhero movie to date. Better than the Dark Knight because that one felt more like a drama sprinkled with a guy with cool gadgets. This one felt like pure superhero.

However I did come out with a few questions:

    1. After Black Widow was almost eaten by the Hulk in that ship, why was she all shaken up? This coming right after she showed ice in her veins when she spoke to Loki 1-on-1.

    2. If the Hulk could be summoned at will and apparently controlled by Banner in the final battle, how come he seemed to have lost control in the ship?

    3. The post-credit scene with Thanos... I was walking out when it happened so I wasn't able to understand it 100%. What did he say? I thought he said that whoever goes to fight these heroes (Avengers) is asking for a death wish, then he smiled. wtf?

I must say, Capt. was the most useless character there. Him and Black Widow. He also came across as a megadouche. If you're gonna pick a fight with Stark, you're always gonna look like the douche. I'm surprised Capt got more action scenes than Thor when Thor clearly is the superior warrior, and it's not even close.

But overall, I'm giving this a 9/10 just because I saw it in normal 2D. Will reserve that 10/10 after I see it on IMAX. Don't care much for 3D's, because they suck if you already wear glasses.

If there are going to be another Avengers movie. I hope they'll have a villain that's actually bad ass next time. Loki comes off as such a weakling with strong connections. But I dude can act the schiette out of that character.

Ironman and Hawkeye ties for the baddest hero. I'm gonna go look for an archery range now and learn how to fire arrows while looking the other way disinterested.

The story was great and climaxed well. The tone was the most different from the other films, being much more serious and it surprisingly worked. The action was great. What part could you not like about it?

Incredible Hulk as in the Ed Norton hulk? That sucked donkey balls. Ang Lee's Hulk was on the other hand good but i dont think it warrants a no. 2 spot.

Yes, Ed Norton. Why? I thought it was a great film for reasons mentioned.
