I liked Garfield's take as well but the movie as a whole was just so bad. I'll probably watch the sequel because I'm a glutton for punishment. That being said, my expectations are really low.
I didn't want to like the first one but I thought it was pretty good. Still not a fan of Garfield's look as Parker overall, but I thought he did a great job with the personality.
first shots of Jamie Foxx as Electro.... http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/ele...xx-as-the-villain-of-the-amazing-spider-man-2 Spoiler not bad, still curious to see how Paul Giamatti as Rhino will turn out.
First thing that comes to mind.... Spoiler <a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/27/1367571mrfreeze.jpg/'><img src='http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/1741/1367571mrfreeze.jpg' border='0'/></a><br>
I like Tobey's more because it is more true to the comic As someone said Garfield seemed more EMO, brooding uberteen-angst nigh douchebag. *lol* Tobey's was a legitimate goofy, uncoordinated nerd discovering new abilities. Tobey was more nerdy looking and acting Rocket River
I am not as well-read in comics as others, but isn't this Spiderman based off a series where he's more edgy and emo-ish than goofy? I could be wrong, but I remember reading that when they first announced this film series.

I think Jamie Foxx is a terribly overrated actor. Dude is a joke. That said, looks like they're going completely against the Electro from the comic books. Should be intersting. First one was alright.
1) How is he overrated? I'm no fan of Jamie Foxx as a person...but as an actor he's obviously great. Go watch Ray, Collateral, or Django Unchained, and try to tell me he's a "joke". C'mon now... 2) They're going with the "Ultimate" version of Electro, rather than the normal version with the goofy green costume. So not completely against it, but just a different version. Spoiler
Well, I have to admit, I'm not a comic book guy, so I can't act like I know too much. But I do like to do research on the characters/villians/etc. in upcoming superhero movies, so from what I understand... The "Ultimate" version of Electro is a product of bioengineering experiments (possibly from Oscorp?), unlike the mainstream version who was given powers due to a freak lightning strike. Makes sense they're doing this because it seems less silly and will appeal more to the "realism" crowd. And apparently the backstory with "Ultimate" Electro is a little different from the mainstream version as well. Mainstream has him as just kind of a jerk electrician, but "Ultimate" with him being a sympathetic nobody and wanting to be "something", which is kinda basic and has been done before, but so be it. Jamie Foxx has also said in interviews that before he gets his powers, he's a big fan of Spiderman and wants to be like him, but after getting his powers, turns into a villain. This is just stuff I've learned since following the movie. Might be mixing some stuff up, but this is what I've gathered and I hope this kind of answers your question.
