As if Terminator 3 and Salvation didn't screw up this franchise enough. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ter...ly_ketchup_terminator_3000_and_expendables_2/
I liked Salvation a lot. T3 was garbage, though. The TV show was well done, too. Yeah....I can't think of one franchise that has crossed that gap and done well.
That movie was terrible. Walked out during the movie. And I was at my house. And I was mad at my television for a couple days for allowing me to view that piece of garbage.
Loved the first 2 movies, T2 is one of my favorite movies of all-time. T3 isn't on the same level but it had ARNOLD back and still some solid action. Didn't even bother seeing Salvation because there was no ARNOLD, don't really like Bale, and from what I saw on the trailer the plot (with the half human/half robot) did not interest me at all.
Yes there was. Arnold's appearance was the best part of Terminator Salvation, and I thought it was actually better then T3.
The closest example to what they seem to be doing here is something similar to The Cone Wars animated movie/series. The movie got bland reviews; dunno bout the series. Haven't seen either of them. But the live-action Star Wars was still family-family. You're taking an edgy, intense, mature concept and trying to make a product for the kiddos. In one way, you might bring a whole new audience to the franchise; but you're gonna piss off and alienate the core base. The producers won't care so long as they make their money though. Salvation could have been excellent, but it had two glaring problems. If this was supposed to be the first film in a new trilogy, Bale/Connor should not have been the focal point. And it went the safer route with a sappy, formulaic ending instead of doing something edgier, riskier and ultimately more original. Had McG not caved into Bale's demands and had not been scared to push the envelope with the ending, it might have been epic.
