VanityHalfBlack, next time you and I talk, sir, we will discuss that movie and deeply explore the intricate plot, acting, scene, editing, and filming of it. I am indebted to you and shall reward you for your ability to easily identify [the similarities] and contribute that movie to this thread. Although something tells me you were aware of the basis for the first version of the movie at hand... but I will rather not speculate and just view the one you've suggested. Thank you.
This is one of those movies that didn't do so well on RT but is damn good IMO. Love when he shoots that chick in the leg. Anyways, I don't see how this one will be good. Seems like a super cheesy premise but I'll take it.
I was hoping they'd call it Taken 2 : Electric Boogaloo and have Liam saving the community center this time.
It'll be the same old same old, which will garner it bad reviews. Don't get me wrong, Taken 1 was awesome, but there's really no need for a sequel. The only good thing is the daughter might be portrayed sexier instead of being portrayed as a 5-year-old with a demented running style now that she's not '17' anymore.
The first movie got luke warm reviews by critics but moviegoers loved it. Is it just that action movies have an inherent art-snob bias against them or something? (300 was the same way, IIRC)
she was so annoying in the movie. Her trying to play a teenager was painfully bad and awkward. seems to be the case. The normal person can put aside everything else about the movie and just say, "man, he kicked ass. That was awesome"
YES! I loved the first, and I like that it's not quite the same situation as last time and that it follows the events of the first. It got 58% on RT, and I consider anything above 50 good, despite what the site says. And it got a much higher ratings among audiences and on IMDB. Seems like it follows the formula of the first and doesn't fall pretty to unnecessary sequel syndrome. Hopefully that holds true.
That's hilarious that you would lump Schindler's list in with Episode I. And Neeson's body of work is quite a bit more diverse I'd say than Denzel. Like both actors though.
They should call it Taken....again. I agree these types of movies don't get high reviews but I like them cause they're easy to watch and you don't have to focus too hard to follow the story line.
I wish on the phone call with his daughter, he would have looked at the camera directly and went "It happened again!!!!" and then kind of shrug like a joke. And then ****ing beat someone's ass.
