Earlier today we posted that Diane Lane briefly spoke with E! Online stating that she has in fact read the script for the new Superman movie titled "Man of Steel," which Zack Snyder is directing and Christopher Nolan producing.

Lane of course is playing Martha Kent, the adoptive mother of the titled hero played by Henry Cavill.

She gave hints at the film's structure by saying:

"It does cover the entire range of years, from infancy on."

So because she said that you have all these bloggers and film sites saying that we will see a young Clark Kent once more. Well if it’s a reboot then of course you'll see a young Clark, its only obvious.

After this story broke online I got to speak with my reliable source about the project once again. For you readers who have doubts about the validity of this source's info, this is the same individual that revealed to us Kevin Costner was cast as 'Pa' Kent, Lois Lane would appear in the film and Zod would be the villain, a major scoop that was finally proven valid with the news of Michael Shannon's casting a few days ago. This source also revealed that along with Zod there will be a Kryptonian villainess. I know that this source has no reason to lie to be about anything.

Being that the "Man of Steel" is a reboot/origin story or whatever you want to call it, they will show you the whole story all over again. Well not the way Richard Donner showed you but it will have some sort of similarities to "Batman Begins."

Here is what my source told me:

You will see JOR-EL and his wife, Lara.

Daniel Day-Lewis was looked at for JOR-EL and not the villain.

Krypton will not be a crystal planet like the Donner film; this Krypton will PROBABLY look like the Coruscant skyline from Star Wars. (See image below)

The Kryptonian villainess is not URSA...Well sort of. The villainess is FAORA.

In the movies Superman and Superman II, the female Kryptonian villainess URSA is based on Faora.

Here is some history on Faora:

Faora Hu-Ul was a serial killer born on the planet Krypton. A self-professed "man-hater", she targeted only male Kryptonians and ran a concentration camp where she kept other Kryptonians as slaves. Faora Hu-Ul claimed over twenty-three lives before she was arrested. Faora was sentenced to over three-hundred years of incarceration inside the Phantom Zone - the longest sentence ever handed to a female prisoner, and the second-longest sentence over all. As Faora was trapped inside the Phantom Zone, she, along with many others, survived the destruction of Krypton.

Faora was an expert at the Kryptonian martial art of Horo-Kanu, which utilized the pressure points on the Kryptonian body. This made her an extremely dangerous foe for Superman to face in hand-to-hand combat—he was forced to flee from their first encounter.

I was also told that she is a bad ass in the script and that she is Zod's "right hand b****."

As for this being an origin story, I just think that its been like over 30 years since the original movie came out and this film is for the new generation who really don't know about Superman and I can see why they are doing it all over again.

Don't be surprised if they announce a casting this Sunday like Warner Bros. has been doing lately.

"Man of Steel" stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, and Michael Shannon as the villain, General Zod/Dru-Zod.

^^ A lot of people are saying this will be Superman II again much like what Singer did with SReturns...no chance. This has all the makings of Birthright, they will just switch out the villains for a more recognizable ones and go from there.

I really like where this is going, they are going to basically tell Superman's story again through the eyes of today's world. Originally, I didn't want an origin story but the more I read the more I think it's the right course of action. I also think we are going to see a ton more Krypton then in the previous movies and set up a big time Kryptonion mythology plot for the trilogy.

Director Zack Snyder has been very Christopher Nolan-esque when it comes to his Superman film, 'Man of Steel.' Almost nothing that hasn't been intentionally released has come out, although there has been an exception or two. One thing that has been shrouded in mystery is the plot of the film, even the basics. A new plot outline has come out on the Baseline Studio System, a database that has outed secretive films in the past. The 'Man of Steel' outline reads:

"A young reporter named Clark Kent roams the world covering various news stories. When he is compelled to use his secret powers to intervene in a crisis in West Africa, he returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and the hero he was born to be."

That's not a whole lot to go on, but it does give up a location and a bit of a timeline. If Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) is already a reporter, it's likely not to be some film in the vein of 'Smallville' which focuses on the younger years of the character.

With Cavill in the lead, the cast of 'Man of Steel' thus far consists of Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, and Michael Shannon as the evil Kryptonian, General Zod. The film has a tentative December, 2012 release planned.

Antje Traue cast as female villain in Superman
German actress to play Faora in Warner Bros.' 'Man of Steel'

EXCLUSIVE: German actress Antje Traue has been cast as Superman villainess Faora in Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures' "Man of Steel."

Henry Cavill stars as the titular superhero, while other confirmed cast members include Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Michael Shannon as General Zod, as well as Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Jonathan and Martha Kent.

There are multiple Faoras in the Superman universe, so it remains unclear which one Traue has been tapped to play. The first Faora, Faora Hu-Ul, was introduced in Action Comics #471 as a beautiful Kryptonian woman with an intense unexplained hatred for all men. She was an expert at the Kryptonian martial art of Horo-Kanu, which utilizes pressure points on the Kryptonian body and made her a dangerous foe for Superman to fight in hand-to-hand combat. In fact, he was forced to flee from their first encounter.

That said, it's more likely that Traue will be playing the version of Faora that debuted in Action Comics #779 as a Pokolistanian aide of General Zod. That character was an orphan metahuman with the ability to disrupt molecular bonds, which allowed her to create a mutagenic virus that served as the linchpin of Zod's plan.

In pop culture, the female Kryptonian named Ursa in "Superman" and "Superman II" is believed to be based on Faora, who appeared on the eighth season of "Smallville" as the wife of General Zod.

Zack Snyder is directing "Man of Steel" from a screenplay by David S. Goyer, based on a story by Nolan and Goyer. Christopher Nolan is producing alongside Charles Roven, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder, while Legendary topper Thomas Tull is exec producing with Lloyd Phillips.

Production is scheduled to start this summer in Chicago, with a release planned for December 2012.

Traue was last seen playing the female lead alongside Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster in Overture Films' "Pandorum." Thesp recently wrapped Renny Harlin's war drama "5 Days of August," which stars Val Kilmer, Andy Garcia and Heather Graham.

Traue is repped stateside by Greene & Associates Talent Agency, and by Troika and Spielkind overseas.

Actress Julia Ormond, who is probably best known for her role opposite of Brad Pitt in 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,' is in negotiations to play Lara, the biological mother of Superman (Henry Cavill) in 'Man of Steel.'

It had previously been reported that actress, Connie Nielsen was lined up for the role, but things must have fallen through. Should negotiations with Ormond pan out, she will likely play opposite of actor, Russell Crowe, who is being lined up to play Superman's biological father, Jor-El.

'Man of Steel' is being helmed by '300,' 'Watchmen,' and 'Sucker Punch' director, Zack Snyder. In addition to those aforementioned, the film features Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Michael Shannon as General Zod. The film has a tentative December 2012 release planned.

Christopher Meloni, who won’t be back on “Law & Order: SVU” next season, is in negotiations for a “major role” in the latest Superman movie.

Meloni has a hairline similar to those of Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey.

If his deal closes he’ll join Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane, none of whom are playing Lex Luthor.

Zack Snyder (“Watchmen,” “Legend of the Guardians,” “Sucker Punch”) directs from a screenplay by David Goyer (“Blade Trinity,” “Blade: The Series,” “Batmand Begins,” “The Unborn” “Threshold,” “FlashForward”).

Word spread earlier that 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' alumnus, Christopher Meloni is joining the cast of Zack Snyder's upcoming take on Superman's return to the big screen, the aptly titled 'Man of Steel.'

His role wasn't known at the time, but Vulture has managed to dig something out of the actor. He told them earlier in the week at the Public Theater Gala that he is to play a general in the film. Pressed further about the specifics of the role, he joked:

"I can't tell you, or I'd have to kill you."

It was at first speculated that Meloni was to play Superman's arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor, but word of a general doesn't quite match up. This begs the question: which kind of general, one of Earthly descent or of Kryptonian?

What's certain is that 'Man of Steel' stars Henry Cavill as Superman, along with Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Russell Crowe as Jor-El. Set to go in front of the cameras soon, the film has a tentative December 2012 release planned.

Perry White no longer lives up to his last name. The editor-in-chief of the fictional newspaper set in the city of Metropolis, the Daily Planet is to be played by veteran actor, Laurence Fishburne in the upcoming, 'Man of Steel.'

Making his debut in 1940 in the comic, 'Superman #7,' White could easily be said to be DC's alternative to Marvel's J. Jonah Jameson, who often gives Peter Parker a hard time, but he's less of an eccentric. He's the embodiment of a tough-but-fair boss.

Theatrically, the character has been played by Frank Langella in 2006's 'Superman Returns;' and by the late, Jackie Cooper in the 1970s-80s 'Superman' series. In the recently finished live-action television show, 'Smallville,' he was played by Michael McKean.

Fishburne -- who has had pivotal roles in such films as 'The Matrix' trilogy,' 'Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer,' 'Predators,' and the upcoming, 'Contagion' -- is the first black actor to take on the role.

He's also the first actor to join the film in nearly a month. The last to join was Harry Lennix, a fellow 'Matrix' alumnus who plays General Swanwick. Before that, Christopher Meloni of 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' reportedly joined, but the specifics of his character haven't come out. It's said that he's playing a general of sorts, more likely than not of earthly origins.

Henry Cavill has the lead in the film as Clark Kent/Superman. Also in the film are Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.

Director Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel' is scheduled to hit theaters on June 14, 2013.

I think they're trying to give it a different texture to make it seem more "alien". I like it.

I like the look of the pic but I don't like Cavill. He looks like a sleazy car salesman. The suit may grow on me though.
