yeah, i actually didn't read any of the comics until recently...to see how the story was presented after having seen The Dark Knight. i think it's a great story, honestly. the backbone of the whole Batman concept is really strong, i think. i think the first Burton movie hit on that....i don't think the others came close to it. i think nolan really held true to the story and was less concerned about visual effect.
I actually liked Superman Returns, but do agree Lex's storyline line was a bit of a waste. But if the Superman Reboot is to Superman Returns as Incredible Hulk was to Hulk, I'll be happy.

The 1st Batman was great. Burton's version with the Penguin and Catwoman . . was not as good. I don't acknowledge the ones after that Rocket River
Yeah, Burton's Batman did not age well at all. I still like it for the nostalgia factor, but watching it recently was cringe worthy. Nolan's Batman is outstanding.
Hmm...I'm not sure about Snyder. I like Snyder, but I'm not sure he's right for Superman. I trust Nolan though, as long as he's involved as producer I'm sure he'll make sure it's more than a revision of 300/Watchmen.
Looks like this movie's villain has now been revealed as well... http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i7b035dcf5d2c2ea748943e504d1d5404 Spoiler
If they combine Zod and Brainiac with a little Luthor then we have something or at least a hint of Brainiac but if they are just going Superman 2 again...I'll watch but it won't go over well even with Nolan attached to the project UNLESS Zod is made into an ultra bad-ass ala Joker. I remember reading somewhere that Brainiac would be in this new version along with Zod being rumored to join him but don't remember if it is before or after Nolan got the gig.
How many more of these reboots of the same damn superheroes are we gonna get?? Move on to Captain America already, jesus!!!
Though I get what you are saying I wouldn't exactly call what they are going to do with "The Man of Steel" a reboot. Because of past legal proceedings DC lost the rights to certain parts of the Superman storyline which reverted back to Jerry Siegel's family. Part of what the Siegel's regained were the rights to the "origin" story for Superman. Which means that DC can no longer recreate that in a reboot without the Siegel's permission which isn't likely to ever happen not that it would be a problem anyhow.
I like Snyder, I just don't want to see his overabundance of slow-motion shots. I think Ben Affleck would have been an inspired choice.
i got disappointed. i thought this movie would be along the lines of this. The ultra bad ass will be Darkseid , but he will probably make a cameo in the version. He will be the main villain in the final movie that will end with the mother of all fight scenes.
Darkseid would be a dream come true but also will be VERY hard to pull off. If Nolan keeps the same vision of using realistic(NON-CGI) villains, like TDK, then Zod makes PERFECT sense as would Brainiac, Metallo and Luthor, they would all be making appearances in these movies. Bizzaro has an outside shot while guys like Eradicator, Darkseid and Doomsday have ZERO shot IMO. Another villian who is a darkhorse to get some screen time would be Toy Man, the dude is obviously realistic yet still dangerous. I've never liked him for the big screen but perfect as a villain for the TV series.
