saw it. good thing i saw it in a nicer theater with reclining sofas. my thoughts: - superman felt like more childish than how he normally is in the cartoons. he's more shazam than superman. but the actor was good, not as handsome as henry. - the whole story seemed like an episode of a cartoon series than an actual movie. - superman was nerfed for some reason. what's gonna happen when he meets world busting villains like thanos or galactus? - wasn't into the whole bolivia invading singapore story line. but maybe gunn is criticizing certain real world events. who knows, it suxed. - never thought i'd want to see a dog die so bad in a movie. he's the new jarjar binks. - supergirl is ugly af. recast her for the next movie asap. her 10 seconds screen time was as annoying as that popcorn shell stuck in the back of my wisdom teeth. - luis lane isn't as hot as i'd like her to be. i mean she could still sit on my face, but still... ya know? - the superman robots were lame. okay carl, or whatever your name was at the end, we get it, you're not human, no feelings, no emotions. don't need to mention you're not human every time you open your robot mouth. ps, you're not human. - i guessed who black noir was from the very beginning. a lot of the stuff were copied from other movies, not very original. - i really liked that this superman movie is not dark and gritty like snyder's emoverse. - some of the action sequences were dope, like yondu scene as @Rocket River breh mentioned. some scenes were cool like when breh saved the lady in the car, and he rose from the ashes like a badass not-cavill hero. - i don't understand why alien breh can't create the sun, but can create krypton in his hands. - that was also the weakest blackhole i have ever seen. maybe neil degrasse can explain how week it was. it should've swallowed earth and our solar system in a second. - wished they would've included more of metahumans in the story, especially after saying they've been around for 300 years in the beginning. at least mention other heroes. - the justice g*ngbang was intriguing. is this in the comics @Xerobull? wonder why they chose supercuts lantern instead of hal jorden. - hawk girl's squeal when she was chasing bolivia's president was cringe. wtf was that about..? she's still cute tho, would let her sit on my face too. - anyone else find mr. terrific's blek face offensive? - wtf kinda post credit scene was this? didn't set anything up. overall i was entertained. after digesting it for an hour, i'd rate it 8/13.
I have to agree with him It was ok but it was not great Superman was definitely a secondary character in his own movie. Mr. Terrific and Guy had you wanting MORE OF THEM than anything about Superman He was not interesting If there was an EPIC SCENE It belonged to Mr. Terrific Rocket River
Definitely borrowed from alot of the other movies Good Catch on the Black Noir Also Kryptonians are now Vitrimites I think went with GUY because he is funnier than Hal The Supergirl think was definitely annoying Rocket River
It was much better than I expected. A solid start. Didn't take itself too seriously, a big plus but maybe they went a little too far. Krypto was great this one time, but I don't want to see him going forward. Same for Supergirl. Mr. Terrific was great. They may consider giving him his own movie. Hawkgirl was meh. Nathan Fillon's version of Green Lantern was interesting. I think Superman is a boring character to build a movie around, but they made it interesting. I agree it was more Shazam than traditional Superman. If the FF movie flops, the pressure on Marvel will be intense.
Agreed. I dunno if this is gonna happen I suspect it will make around 400 million which will be a major disappointment for Marvel Rocket River
I was kind of in the middle of everything. Rachel Brosnahan. Hot. Robots? Stupid. Superman didn't seem so super. "Middleman" is more like it. I think I liked Green Lantern the most. His powers, anyway. The giant green middle fingers made me smile. Hawkgirl's screech was annoying but at least the actress is smoking. Skippable, overall.
Snyder's Superman was too powerful to make for a great universe. Everyone was fighting just bide time until Superman wakes up and kicks everyone's ass. The world was also too inconsistent in tone. WW and Aquaman were pretty much comedy and and Batman and Superman were too serious. Cavil was the only saving grace of the Superman movies. This world is less serious and this Superman can get his ass kicked (only by a clone of himself), that it makes for a more interesting story and world. As Gunn said, a OP Superman makes all the other superheroes irrelevant. A less serious world allows us to more easily suspend our understanding of physics and logic, and just enjoy the world.
