You just simply aren’t going to out muscle Cavil so you might as well go in a completely different direction look wise. The MCU is going to have the same issue with recasting Wolverine too because nobody is going to out HGH Jackman’s Logan… so whoever they announce I’m sure you’ll get a bunch of homoerotic negative responses at the new Logan vs ripped Jackman Logan.

I assume this movie will be more of an action comedy with heart typical Gunn Guardians vibe which will be fun but will it be greatest comic movie ever??? I dunno. Don’t really care. Superman is just a necessary character if you want to do a DCU just as Captain America is for an MCU. We’ll see how well this is really when these characters start playing off of each other and what the arc is for the series over the long run.

Frankly the villains will be much more tricky to pull off. I always felt that was DC’s weak spot. Marvel and Stan Lee especially really did a great job over the years with compelling villains.

I’ll see this one for sure but won’t freak out too much about the demise of the DCU until we get a couple films to see where they are going with the overall film series. I expect a fun and funny comic book film that is pretty silly but has some heart to it.

To be fair, I think the new superman is much taller than Cavill. He may not be as jacked tho',

This b**** looks nothing like Superman. Get an actor that ACTUALLY looks like Superman.

I think it's more of the new superman outfit..... New superman certainly seems to tower over a lot of people in the trailer.

Why does superman need muscles? He's got Kryptonian super powers. Wouldn't a 98 lb weakling from Krypton still fly around, shoot lasers from his eyes and leap tall buildings in a single bound?

I mean, if the mutt can do it, an emo soy boy from Krypton should still be the strongest creature on planet Earth.

How much weight would Superman have to bench to "feel the burn" and build muscle?

    "The Mountain Who Rides Flies"

I also think it's funny now many grown ass men care about what color of red/white/blue spandex a cape-and-codpiece-wearing comic book character is sporting these days.

DC has some of the best villains. Most of them belong to Batman's rogue gallery. I mean joker made a billion dollar which is more than any batman movie has.
