I think this movie looks funny, although I'll agree that Ferrell hasn't been in anything funny in a long ass time.

    Talladega Nights sucked.
Semi Pro - Never saw it (no desire)

Will Ferrell only has two excellent movies, Old school and Elf, and one great guest appearence (Wedding Crasher).

All other movies of his suck. I stop watching his movies after Talladega Nights.

Anyone who would put Elf over Anchorman is someone whose opinion about comedy I do not trust.

NIMO. But we're all entitled to our own, right? :)

Me, I know that comedy is hard and there's no such thing as a comedic actor who has a perfect track record, hell, there's no such thing as anybody who has a perfect track record.[/QUOTE]

And for the record, I have never been into Ferrell's shtick. I was never on the bandwagon so I couldn't have jumped off of it.

I have a job that I am able to post while at.

R Rated stupid funny flick with Ferrell and Reily, sign me up.

Semi Pro was a lazy flick but not as bad as Kicking and Screaming and Bewitched if you want to point to some really bad Ferrell stuff.

i agree with all this (though i saw semi pro and it was awful, as was blades of glory).

when i saw the extended trailer in the theater though, it was easily the funniest previews i've ever seen. i hope it doesn't disappoint.

I agree. Those were early in his movie career so I don't blame him for going for the easy money. Now there's no excuse, that's why I'm hoping for the best in this movie.

For all the Ferrell fans, they're working on Anchorman 2  Supposedly it follows the Anchorman team through the 80s.

I wanna watch Step Brothers, because although I do agree Ferrell's last few were garbage (Semi-Pro (didnt wanna watch), Talledega Nights (eh), Blades of Glory (eh)) this new one has Reily, and anyone who missed out on Dewey Cox missed out on comedy GOLD. I'll give a Reily + Ferrell combo a chance again.

So many people didn't like Talladega Nights. What is wrong with you people?! "Blades of Glory" and "Semi-Pro" were pretty bad, though...

Dude, Anchorman is comedy gold! I didn't get it the first time I watched, but after watching it again I died laughing. One of my favorite comedies ever. Talladega Nights was also great imo.

Semi Pro and the one with ice skating = suxx0rz. Bad, bad movies.

Anchorman and Talledega Nights are his best pure comedic efforts (Stanger than Fiction probably being his best overall performance though)...both great movies (though Talledega Nights would have been better had Steve Carrel been in it w/ a supporting role).

Blades of Glory was awful and Semi Pro was boring and tiresome.

This looks possibly a return to form...though it better deserve the R rating cause Semi Pro sure didn't.

I'm with you on that, but you gotta realize that Anchorman, Talladega Nights, and now this movie are the only ones that are actually written by Ferrell (and the director Adam McKay). I see it as a quality stamp, they've earned my trust thus far

    Fun movie!

    Great for a laugh.

Let yourself lighten up and you might remember what it is to see a movie just to have some fun.

Ferrell and McKay developing 'Anchorman 2'

    Jul 23, 2008, 06:42 AM | by Nicole Sperling

    Categories: Movie Biz

Anchormanferrell_lRon Burgundy fans rejoice! It looks like Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, the brains behind Anchorman, are ready to put the sexist, freewheeling newscaster back in the anchor chair. McKay tells EW.com that he and Ferrell have begun work on a sequel that could jump ahead a decade to the '80s. (We can see it now: Ron discovers hair mousse.) DreamWorks says it hasn't yet talked to the duo, but that doesn't mean Ferrell and McKay aren't dreaming up inappropriate new plots. "The audience will now allow us to do even crazier stuff," McKay says, "and that's really all we're looking for in our careers."
