Interesting in that I don't see and interpret these scenes the same way. Gonna look forward to seeing it again cause I didn't notice anything in my first two viewings to suggest Finn's path leads him to being a Jedi or a strong user of the Force. Imo, they clearly set Rey up to be the main protagonist of this series, and the chosen one of sorts. But I agree she doesn't have to be the only one who uses the Force. I definitely don't want a trilogy that mirrors the OT. We got that to an extent in Force Awakens, for good reason, but Episode 8 needs to chart its own path now. So it could be interesting to see a number of force-sensitive people, Jedi or not, battling the First Order. And maybe Finn does learn to use the Force, but clearly not on the same level as Rey. Maybe in Finn we have a character who wants to believe in the Force but his naivety, fear and perhaps a bit of arrogance, prevents him right now from discovering and utilizing the power within himself.
Leia was a smart and independent woman at that time, very sexy and still elegant today. Daisy is more feisty modern girl that more younger folks can relate to. Padme Amidala (Nat Portman) was beautiful in her own way.
Oh boy ppl here did not realize that Carrie Fisher had substance abuse problems like Stevie Franchise and was bipolar
So who will find Finn's storm trooper helmet? And where are Vader's, the Chancellors, and Obi's light Sabers currently, and for that matter Darth Maul?
Vader's lightsaber went over the rail (with his mechanical hand) on Death Star 2.... same rail the emperor went over. Obi-wan's was probably left in the death star 1's lost and found, or Vader took it back to his room and put it with his other personal stash (which meant it probably was lost when they blew up the DS). The rest of those people, and their lightsabers, were prequel fodder that the new franchise will not (or should not) touch.
Finn being force sensitive is a pretty common theory though, I didn't just come out of left field with it. I do think that though in a whole that this series is expanding the force. That you could be strong with the force and have nothing to do with the Jedi. If so, Finn would be the example of that. I do feel there is a lot to the Finn thing though personally, especially as the site and visual dictionary of the movie say that Finn and Rey coincide with this awakening. The big mystery that no one seems to talk about because we know so little are The Knights Of Ren. We just know that they are some group of Snoke and Kylo is part of it. JJ said they are not sith and Kylo is not Sith...but there were about 6 of them...So Rey can't fight them alone. The only other known Jedi in the galaxy right now is Luke.
One thing I noticed is how much fight choreography style changed over the decades between the original and TFA. Everything is so mucb slicker, perhaps unrealistically so, in TFA. Perhaps the influence of Hong Kong cinema on Americans?
They at least toned it down versus Ep. 1, I think. Ep. 1 was the height of the influence in the immediate aftermath of The Matrix. EDIT: Whoops, both came out at about the same time, so I guess under the same influence.
Here is my plot prediction... Luke ( Skywalker ) Trains Rey ( Skywalker ). But there is an unknown creature on the mysterious planet too. Another Jedi. Waterious. With whom Luke has been seeking council. A Jedi born from Water. Ancient. Born from the species that first discovered the force. And that learned as Jedi Knights the power to create life. And to awaken the force. Luke after being trained, has already initiated the awakening, but at a great consequence. Luke leaves Rey and BB-8 on the planet alone to continue training in the force while he seeks out what Ren and Snoke are up too. But before completing her training Rey is forced to surrender to General Hux and several storm troopers, and captured is taken to Snoke and Wren. Learned it is that Snoke has been craving the power to create life so that he can bring back a species brought to extinction by Anakin Skywalker. The Sandpeople. Snoke was adopted by the Sandpeople and mistakenly spared by Skywalker during the massacre of the Sandpeople. Though left with a pretty hefty scar. He survives in a cave as a child, vowing vengeance against Skywalker for many years, and having learned that Annakin ultimately killed all sandpeople, he is committed to resurrection of the species, and of his former caretakers. Any living Skywalker ( or Solo-Skywalker ) is in danger and must ultimately pay for what Vader/Annakin did. This confirms Annakins fear and nightmare of an unmasked Sandperson.. Snoke wants the Skywalkers together so he can finish all three of them at once. And learn the whereabouts of Waterious so he can convert him and learn the secrets of life creation. It should not be lost on you that the Sandpeople think all water is sacred. Unfortunately, it seems the Skywalkers have devised a plan to bring down Snoke from the inside. And will all be at the throne of the supreme Dark knight soon. Ren, having killed Solo, is now tied into the force more deeply than before, and sensing his own death, begins to selfishly work with Rey to undermine Snoke and end his reign. Luke arrives too with the intent of meeting Snoke. Finn, Chewbacca, Poe, D2, 3PO, and Leiah all provide distractions for sneaking Luke into Snopes thrown room. And now converging together, all three of the Skywalkers ( Ben Luke and Ren ) walk up to the throne of Snoke with the support of the Knights of Wren, and surround Snoke. To Snokes pleasure. He grins. Snoke is not afraid. But he does not feel Leia nor knows about her. All of the Knights of Ren are killed by Snoke and Ren, Rey, and Luke are all about to die when Waterious suddenly appears. He has been following everyone all along and was being lead to Snoke with the capture of Rey. Snoke tries to goad Waterious to the Darkside. Waterious will not turn. He is too strong. There is an epic lightsaber battle between Waterious and Snoke. A door opens and several Jawa's arrive with the droid BB-8. Who projects Princess Leia on the floor. The original message of Leia plays. "You are our only hope." Waterious looks at Luke. Luke looks at Waterious. And distracted by the units Snoke puts a saber through Waterios gut. At that moment there is total darkness, and then a flicker of a light, and in that flicker of light a black light saber arises....
I think Episode 1 used the expanded fight scenes to show what the Force was in its prime, when people trained in it. Now it's just a relic of the past. Edge of extinction.
True. Vader's sad devotion to that ancient religion didn't help him conjure up the stolen data tapes or give him clairvoyance enough to find the Rebels' hidden fortRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR ima_drummer2k has logged off
