Is Luke already dead in the movie? Weird to leave him out of the poster, especially when Han and Leia are there.
Spoiler He doesn't show up till the very last minute according to rumors. He has a bigger role in 8 & 9.

I haven't thought a lot of this movie yet, real busy with work and other stuff. But seeing these posters and mini-videos.....I think I just came. In any case, this JJ Abrams is smart. I don't say this to be cynical at all, but it looks like our young protagonists will ensure a little bit of all demographics get psyched to see this movie, rather than JUST white males from 7 to middle-aged nerd (me). This movie is gonna rock. Unlike when the credits rolled on Episode I: Cultural Insensitivity in Space (Step'N Fetch It, "me-saa Jah Jah Beenks" and the homage to badly-dubbed Asian movies "this one's a de-coy"); the audience was absolutely mute after watching Midichlorians ruin Star Wars.
The best Christmas gift for me is to see this on opening day with jontro. So how about it? Don't let me down!!!!
It looks a lot closer to the recent Star Trek reboot in terms of style. All of the footage that has been shown feels really organic and less CGI. Grittier.
I hope you are wrong. I didn't mean to click your spoiler notice but I got so used to clicking those on Clutchfans that I just clicked it!!!
Him being related to Mace has the tie-in with a high midichlorian count. Since it would seem it is hereditary with the Skywalkers. This midichlorian thing is stupid, but it's here now and there's nothing we can do about it. So basically every living thing has midi-chlorians but only those with a lot of them living in their cells can learn how to use the force. I guess Lando could have some kid with some woman from who knows where and their child has enough midichlorians to use the force but it just feels too easy. Makes the world too small. I'd rather Finn just be a random black kid who is strong with the force just because and not be forced to say he's someone's kid because there was a token black guy in each of the previous trilogies and now there's no way for there to be a black kid in star wars unless he's related to one of those guys. Even if he is Mace's son. Why? Why would the 2nd highest ranking Jedi and 2nd most powerful Jedi betray his code and have love and sex and children to make Finn? This is all considering he survived Palpatines attack and being thrown out of the building. Why would he cower and go into hiding and just live a normal life while all his Jedi brothers and sisters are being slaughtered? That is completely out of his character. He would have tried to rebuild the Jedi order or make contact with obi-wan. Lets say he was recovering, taken in by someone(maybe a hot chocolaty piece of ass) somehow during Order 66. He wakes up many months after it happens. He eventually finds out, and just decides the best thing for him to do is stay in the shadows the rest of his life banging this nice lady who saved his life? I don't buy it. I know Finn is wielding a lightsaber in the trailer and in the poster, but i'm actually still not convinced that makes him force capable. Anyone can pick up a lighstaber and use it including Dr. Cornelius Evazan or Watto. You don't need to be a jedi to use a lightsaber and therefor i think Finn just has it and it's the only weapon he can use to defend himself even though he has no formal training and no force knowledge.
Tickets are available for preordering now. Better move quickly if you wanna see it in IMAX. The 7PM Thursday night showing is already close to sold out.
I hit up Bob Bullock in Austin for Interstellar in IMAX and that was awesome, definitely gonna see Star Wars here too.
