awesome. i really like that movie. someone i read pointed out once that it doesnt really have a likable character. but its still a pretty great movie.
Didn't want to start a new thread because this is an unconfirmed rumour...but...Ewan McGregor to return as Obi-Wan for prequels set between episodes III and IV?
Don't forget to post the rumor from yesterday, which is as equally exciting: http://nerdist.com/rumor-jon-favreau-and-matthew-vaughn-in-running-for-star-wars-anthology/ Apparently there will be a movie focussing on Boba Fett and Han Solo in their younger years.
Now THIS would be awesome. Although, as I've said a million times, I'd want it to focus more on Darth Vader in his prime hunting down Jedi.
Darth Vader is probably the most recognizable character from the entire Star Wars universe, yet he is the least re-used. How there wasn't news about a Darth Vader spinoff as soon as Disney bought Star Wars is beyond me.
Although Vader's iconic, they need to bring in new siths.. Whether it's from the Old Republic or it's post Battle of Endor I'm just tired of Sidious, Dooku & Vader. Maul had like 4 lines, totally underused. Bring on Darth Krayt, Exar Kun, find Revan, revive Plagueis. Don't want them to re-visit Vader until they do something new.
Well Plagueis was so skilled with the dark side that he could manipulate the midichlorians to create life. Wouldn't be surprised if he could revive himself or maybe manipulate another sith (maybe kylo ren) to revive him. I'd be surprised if Kylo plays a bigger part than Darth Maul in this new sequel, they'll definitely have a bigger villain like Sidious pulling the strings. I'm betting on Plagueis (since Andy Serkis sounds like something Plagueis would sound like & there's a picture of him in a mokap suit) or the rise of Darth Krayt.
Because Lucas completely destroyed the character by turning him into a whiny entitled immature little brat that absolutely no one cared about.
I hope they tone down the light saber fight some. It just seems to prequal like if they have people doing a million flips in the air so they can swing a light saber once. A happy medium between the slow fights in the OT and crazy Obi-wan VS Anakin fights would be good.
I think the battle between Obi-wan vs Anakin in Ep 3 made sense. They were two Jedi in the prime of their physical abilities, two jedi that are considered the most talented and gifted during their era.
It was just a little over the top, and really made the rematch in Epsiode IV look super lame in comparison. But since that was 20 years later, I guess that explains it. We never really got to see Darth Vader in his prime. That's just a huge part of the entire saga that's sadly missing.
Yea, young Darth Vader chronicles with Obi-Wan (Ewan) would be good. I think young Vader could be more of a silent type, like Maul was. A toned down more functional version of his armor would be needed.
Eh... I bet his story involves sitting in on a lot of Imperial board meetings... with a lot of him force-choking people (like in Ep IV), and he sees more and more idiots getting false titles/promotions that he has no plans of honoring. Also, a lot of him being the middle man between the emperor and the other board members. Occasionally he flies his own ship and shoots things... because he's too good of a pilot not to. But with his physical limitations, I see him delegating a lot more things to his troops/workers... much like he did with regularity in the OT.
