Lets hope not. It's bad enough they have made spider-man weak as hell. I would be so disappointed if they made Topher the star of a Venom spin-off. If they do make a spin-off I hope they can redeem themselves. They have murdered Spider-Man for me.
Marvel was talking big game about doing Spiderman the right way (not that 1 and 2 were bad though). I was excited. But they sellout and renew the licensed rights. Shame on them.
I did not like Topher as Venom nothing against him [he could have been a good Peter Parker too] but Eddie Brock is suppose to be the Polar Opposite of Spiderman BIG . . MUSCULAR . . not particularly bright Rocket River
Well they should have gone that ruite...I think that would have made it a better series of movies More Gwen and less Mary-Jane...Did not like the character they made Dunst play
Gwen Stacy was a blip on the screen for the Spider Man comic. Mary Jane was his longtime love. Dunst is the problem, not Mary Jane. Besides the sorry 3rd movie which was awful, Dunst is my main gripe with the series. She doesn't measure up to this level.
Yea . . I always envisioned Mary Jane just a little more rough and tumble I guess the word is realistic He playing Mary Janes is kind of week I was trying to think of a Movie where I thought she acted well [Interview with a Vampire?] Rocket River
I agree that they flubbed Venom. But there are SO many villains left. And remember that they used Kingpin in Daredevil. Here are some notable villains that we could see: Electro Kraven the Hunter Lizard (most likely, they've been setting this up since the first movie). Morbius Mysterio Rhino Scorpion Tombstone Vulture Puma Beetle
I'd love to see Vulture onscreen. Mark Millar really added a lot to that character a few years ago (Electro finding out he was gay in prison not withstanding). They could make a really awesome movie out of Jameson (or some other rich villain) financing the creation of Spider-Slayers and eventually the Scorpion.
Well I meant they should have started with Gwen, then moved to MJ...instead of starting with MJ then Gwen
If they do a take on Tombstone similar to the new animated series (Spectacular Spider-Man), that would give the next Spidey movie a much more serious overall tone. I might like that.
just curious, how do you think they made spider-man weak.....i think they've been extremely true to that character....they tried to do too much in spidey 3...but they've never lost building the character of spidey, as it was in the comics.
What are you talking about? Spider-man, Peter Parker rather, is supposed to be a weak nerd. I think Toby has nailed that role perfectly. My problem, like many others, has been Dunst. It's not really her acting (it is partly) it's that she is ugly. I mean I know some people think she's attractive, but I think she's really ugly. And her teeth are crazy. I know it's a cartoon picture, but I think it relays the point. MJ is supposed to be a stone cold fox. A model. Not some ugly girl next door with jacked up teeth who can barely cut it as an actress.
I would like to see Carnage on film but it would definitely have to be rated R and i think most people would feel his "philosophy" on life is too close to the Joker's in TDK. He'd probably be in a Venom spin-off if they made one, anyway. I think Scarlet Spider would be a good character to play with
You guys are too down on Spideyman. Spider-man 1 and 2 were both classics and enough for me to ignore the third and still have faith that they can make another great Spiderman movie again. Spider-man 1 and 2 have become severly underrated due to the hatred brought forth for the third. Please guys watch those two movies again... and agree with me that they are both better than most of the superhero movies released in the last 2-3 years. Heck, they aren't just good as a superhero movie, but overall great movie in general and definitely in my top 100 movies list.
