Don't get me wrong. The first time that I saw Spider-Man I felt in love with it. Because I've been waiting for that movie since James Cameron was attached to it and I'm a big spidey geek. But it didn't take long for me to come to my senses to see how wrong it was that Raimi totally mess it up. Toby as good as an actor that he was didn't fit the part well. He was decent at playing the nerdy and the emotional role but felt flat as the humorous part. I just can't stand the weird shape of his mouth that he makes or that big eyes of his. Don't get me started with Kirsten Dunst as MJ. That is not Mary Jane and I'm not talking just her look. MJ and Peter/Spidey has lots of character. But the part that destroy the movie/franchise for me was the absent of Gwen Stacy's story line. I mean if you're not a fan of spiderman then it wouldn't mean thing at all. But as a real fan the important part of certain character such as Gwen Stacy or Uncle Ben because they are the 2 that shape his character. In a way I'm glad they left out Gwen Stacy because hopefully we get to see the movie that was meant to be told.
They are not pure crap but some are. Transformers 1,2. 2012. GI Joe(actually didn't do that well), All of Harry Potter films(yeah I said it), Twilight: New Moon, Independence Day, Armageddon, Ice Age, The Da Vinci Code, The Matrix Reloaded, Hancock, Madagascar,I Am Legend,The Day After Tomorrow, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End...
[Spiderman 4] Raimi/Sony divorce, franchise to be rebooted http://www.bangordailynews.com/detail/134573.html Too bad. I was hoping they'd iron out the differences and finish things off by filming 2 final films back to back. I know Raimi insisted on the Vulture as the villain (and maybe Lizard), and Sony was adamantly against them and demanded that Black Cat be worked in. Augh. As good as the first two were, the 3rd obviously blew. And a lot of that had to do with Sony's interference. Now Sony wants to start all over and do a "Spiderman Begins" reboot. More grit! Way to derail the most successful comic book franchise not involving a bat.

Why would they want Carnage? The character only existed because Marvel wanted to push Venom as a vigilante. If they wanted a symbiote villain, why throw away the best one in the last movie? Since the big three have all been offed onscreen, you're left with the B-team: Carnage, Vulture, Hobgoblin, Mysterio, Electro, Lizard, Kraven, Chameleon, Scorpion... They almost have to do a reboot at this point, just to cycle through a few of those guys before the big timers come up to bat again. I'd love to see the Jackal get some screentime, at least as the college professor with the creepy obsession with Gwen Stacy.
I can't leave well enough alone....you may have a point with the first Harry Potters as they were largely kid-friendly and devoid of any depth. But from Azkaban on, the Harry Potter films have received nothing but rave reviews...it is absurd to put them into the same sentence as the other films there. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, just know that you are clearly in the minority with that one.
http://www.superherohype.com/news/spider-mannews.php?id=8998 It's Official! Marc Webb to Direct Spider-Man! Source:Sony Pictures January 19, 2010 Marc Webb, the director of the Golden Globe nominated Best Picture (500) Days of Summer, will direct the next chapter in the "Spider-Man" franchise, set to hit theaters summer 2012, it was jointly announced today by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios. Written by James Vanderbilt, Webb will work closely with producers Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin in developing the project, which will begin production later this year. Commenting on the announcement, Amy Pascal, co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Matt Tolmach, president of Columbia Pictures, said, “At its core, Spider-Man is a small, intimate human story about an everyday teenager that takes place in an epic super-human world. The key for us as we sought a new director was to identify filmmakers who could give sharp focus to Peter Parker’s life. We wanted someone who could capture the awe of being in Peter’s shoes so the audience could experience his sense of discovery while giving real heart to the emotion, anxiety, and recklessness of that age and coupling all of that with the adrenaline of Spider-Man’s adventure. We believe Marc Webb is the perfect choice to bring us on that journey.” Arad and Ziskin added jointly, “Over the years, the Spider-Man comics have been told with bold and creative new writers and artists who have re-calibrated the way audiences see Peter Parker. Marc Webb will do for the new direction of the films what so many visionary storytellers have done with the comic books. He is an incredibly talented filmmaker and we look forward to working closely with him on this new adventure.” Webb said, “This is a dream come true and I couldn't be more aware of the challenge, responsibility, or opportunity. Sam Raimi's virtuoso rendering of Spider-Man is a humbling precedent to follow and build upon. The first three films are beloved for good reason. But I think the Spider-Man mythology transcends not only generations but directors as well. I am signing on not to ‘take over’ from Sam. That would be impossible. Not to mention arrogant. I'm here because there's an opportunity for ideas, stories, and histories that will add a new dimension, canvas, and creative voice to Spider-Man.” Stan Lee, co-creator of Spider-Man, added, “I’m excited that Sony has chosen a director with a real penchant and understanding for the character. This is a brave, bold direction for the franchise, and I can’t wait to see what Marc comes up with next.” Added Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, “The idea of re-imagining the on-screen story for one of the world’s most iconic superheros is sure to deliver an exciting new dimension to Spider-Man fans everywhere. There are volumes of comics and material available to inspire fresh and compelling takes on Peter Parker and his journey as Spidey and we look forward to seeing this come alive onscreen.” MARC WEBB has won acclaim with his film debut (500) Days of Summer. He has several MTV VMAs™ including 2009's Best Director award for Green Day's "21 Guns," 2006 Best Rock Video for AFI’s “Miss Murder,” and Best Group Video for The All-American Rejects’ “Move Along.” The Music Video Production Association honored him in 2006 as the Director of the Year for his work with Weezer, AAR, and My Chemical Romance. In addition to two Golden Globe nominations including Best Picture (musical or comedy), his first feature film, (500) Days of Summer, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel, has been nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards, including Best Feature. Webb was also awarded the Spotlight Award, which honors outstanding directorial debuts, by the National Board of Review.

Taylor Lautner and Zac Efron are some of the names that will probably come up for Peter Parker.
I'm hoping for Jospeh Goron Levitt, great actor and has worked with the director in his only film "500 days of summer" which i think is way overrated on IMDB.
One of my fav youtube posters made a vid about this: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lg6v1dgTcxw&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lg6v1dgTcxw&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> If you aren't familiar with him you should check out his other stuff.
