OK! I left the movie thinking is was very . . . .averages Theron - far Above Average - hamstrung by the script Huntsman - above average Everyone else. . . . average Twilight chick - below average The battles we ok to good. . but not all that . . and not enough of them A bunch of the characters were just silly 6 out of 10 . . maybe 7 Rocket River
Watched tonight at the theatre. If wasn't for Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth, wouldn't have watch this movie. This had the potential to be a classic. Stewart has always had barely expression on her face as usual. The elk has big significance in fantasy, folklore and mythology. Mostly is designated as the representation of nature/cycle of life. Is the biggest embodiment of white magic that is why the dwarfs were amaze in that scene (won't tell, see the movie to understand). Charlize Theron made an AMAZING job, her performance as the black queen was superb. You see why she was that way. Hemsworth, lost soul, tortured. Love him, such an eye candy. Stewart portrayed enough innocence for the role. But WHY they had to do this triangle ala Twilight? Was it necessary? And the end was meh... Had to tell you this, the movie looked beautiful! Excellent photography and designer. The wardrobe rocked!!
I'd rather stick to 'Enchanted' to get my fairy tale fix. Bella is the same in every movie. you can say that about a lot of actors I guess, but she just annoys me. If snow white is a suicidal misfit, then i can see it working. I'll watch it when it comes out on showtime or epix.
I thought it was pretty good, but fell short of being the epic fantasy it could have been. Two things really bothered me. It was dreary and monotonous, even in scenes where the film should have conveyed a different emotion. And then the end, which is more or less a testimony of the lack of development of the male leads and the love story. Have to say though, the Total Recall trailer played in front of it, and I'm kind of stoked about it now.
Average movie at best. I love Theron but she was allowed to overact like crazy. I'll never understand Kristen Stewart's appeal. Hemsworth does well even if it's just a Thor Lite kind of role.
