[Movie] Skyline (Sci-Fi/Disaster) This was totally off my radar. Looks insanely cool. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/teQXPjUH6jY?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/teQXPjUH6jY?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/I4uIEqNoLrE?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/I4uIEqNoLrE?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> Spoiler Seems a little like V meets Independence Day meets Cloverfield. What's not to like about that?
I was excited after the first trailer, but this one makes it look like a straight to DVD flick with good CGI and a sh**ty cast.
Seriously? It's a sci-fi disaster flick. You don't need Will Smith and Keanu Reeves eating up $$$. Just lay back and enjoy the ride.
In that case, I prefer newcomers that can actually act. Not "that black guy from Scrubs" and that other guy from...well, whatever the hell he's been in.
Disaster movies for the most part have A listers and are released during the summer, so this one might actually be good. They're a guilty pleasure of mine. I even liked the disaster movie that poked fun at disaster movies.
I agree- I liked Cloverfield more than 2012. The meat of a disaster flick is the disasters/action. People poo-pooing a flick like this due to the actors is like people griping about the plot in The Expendables.
When the first trailer came on in the theaters, I dont know why, but it made me laugh really hard. At it, not with it. Second trailer looks a bit better but im not sold
I like how the aliens are pretty unrelenting. It's a November release so it could be pretty decent. The lack of an A-list cast doesn't bother me a bit..see Sunshine, Serenity, District 9, Cloverfield. Seriously needs to be more sci-fi movies out there though.
Showed the trailers to my wife- she seems to be with the '2nd trailer is corny' crowd. I said 'I love the second trailer', and she punked me out, saying, 'yeah, you love corny'. I can't argue with that, I guess.
That 2nd trailer was so cheesy it reminded me of that giant shark trailer with Debbie Gibson a while back. This movie is going to be horrid.
