im a fan of his movies and am very curious to see what he does with this. im assuming this will be a family friendly comedy...but its hard to imagine RZ not doing a f***ed up horror movie. it would actually be super hilarious if he zombfied this and made it really dark, violent and satanic. i dont know if hes still in austin, but i used to live down the street from butch patrick (and the dude who wrote castaway).
Filmmaker Rob Zombie has released a brief teaser trailer for “The Munsters,” his upcoming horror-comedy take on the classic 1960s sitcom of the same name. The project stars Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa, Richard Brake as Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang, Sylvester McCoy as Igor, Jorge Garcia as Floop, Catherine Schell as Zoya Krupp along with Cassandra Peterson as Barbara Carr and Dee Wallace as the voice of “Good Morning Transylvania”. An exact replica of the Mockingbird Lane Mansion was being made for the film which was shot in Budapest. Despite Zombie’s history of dark R-rated films, this is not some dark reinvention with the filmmaker promising the project is very much rated PG. “The Munsters” will be released simultaneously in theaters and via streaming on Peacock later this year. https://www.darkhorizons.com/teaser-rob-zombies-the-munsters/ At least it looks like it keeps the same tone as the original show.....still seems pointless to me...
Not terribly interested, but I enjoyed the Munsters when I was a kid and I am curious how Rob Zombie will fare without his excessively violent schlock. That's probably enough to get me to check this out since I already have Peacock with Comcast.
Ted Cruz should have played Grandpa. Rob Zombie needs to stop casting his talentless wife in every one of his movies.... there is a reason she cannot get work.
Draggggggulaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. No dorkier song exists. Even though Andrew WK tries/tried on every track. Good luck.
Doesn't seem much different to The Munsters Today. At least the last attempted remake with Jerry O'Connell was somewhat interesting.
Interesting.... Definitely a different direction after House of a Thousand Corpses and Devil's Rejects.
I had to look to see if "Casandra Peterson" was Elvira, and yup... she's playing a "normal human". Something about these remakes never is quite right. The original was awesome, though.
He should have just done a reality cos-play version by dressing up like the munsters for a month, inviting Ted Cruz over and filming it. I'll watch this for old times sake but my expectations are pretty low.
