Holy crap! Do yourself a favor and see this movie. It was the funniest movie i can ever remember seeing. Just pure awesomeness. I'm going to see this again when it comes out.
Is it just a bunch of stoner humor? I don't have anything against potheads really, I just don't find all the "man, I'm soooo wasted" stuff very funny at all.
lol i can't recall any recent "Stoner film" where they just smoke weed all movie and talk about how high they are. maybe one or two scenes at the most. when I first saw the previews, I had no idea 'Pineapple Express' was the name of the weed he is buying. its a comedy for everybody, not just for ganja burners.
Yep, All the Real Girls/Snow Angels + fat Green Hornet + best trailer ever (not work appropriate) = 12:01 am opening day for me. An arthouse stoner comedy: how can this possibly go wrong? Also, this song now permeates my days. I want to quit my desk job, sell all my stuff, and Kerouac/Into the Wild out west so that so that my life lives up to the soundtrack currently stuck in my head. (I'm sure tomorrow it'll go back to a Brubeck medley, so it'll probably pass.)
I hate most stoner movies, I honestly hate most comedies I see. This one has absolutely superb writing and Rogan and Franco are perfect together in the lead role. I'd see it if I were you. I find it hard to believe that anyone wouldn't like this movie.
Well, I didn't really say that there have been movies like that, but there have definitely been movies with that element and many movies have characters who are there to be nothing more than a constant "damn I'm stoned" joke. I was just asking if there was an abundance of that, which it appears there isn't.
Grandma's Boy was great. Couldn't agree with you more, it is definately in my top five. I'm look forward to seeing this movie later tonight, hopefully it will crack my top five as well.
