I saw this last night. Very suspensful movie. It took a minute for everything to get started, but once it got going it had me on the edge of my seat. It had quite a few jump out of your seat moments and a good story line. The shaky camera gave me a headache after a while so I wouldn't recommend seeing this one if you get motion sickness. Overall, I liked the movie and it gave me a good scare. People who are picky about the quality of the actors or camera skills probably need to skip this one.
Just saw it. Definitely better seen on the big screen with lots of easily frightened people around. Spoiler I think I definitely would have taken that HAZMAT guy's M4 machine gun and laid waste to some zombie fools... instead of just leaving it. Also, wtf is with everyone asking zombies nicely to "calm down" even after its obvious they're rabid and gonna try to kill them? Stupid humans. Anybody have any idea who the final zombie was that killed the camera guy and reporter? It looked like some scraggly old white dude in his tighty whities.. my friend thinks it was an old grandma.. but who could that be? I thought it had to be the hermit guy the landlord said he hadn't heard from in 5-6 months. The best part was when everybody panicked and went upstairs while the camera crew went down stairs to find out why everyone was scattering.. You knew that ***** was about to hit the fan then.
The last zombie that killed the camera man and the reporter was the man they were talking about, when they were taking a count of everyone in the building. The one who lived in the attic who they hadn't seen in months. He was a mad scientist who was trying to develop some germ warfare weapons.....that's why you saw all the clippings of terror attacks and stuff on his walls. He was testing his stuff on the rats in the cages, and I'm guessing one or two got out, and bit the litte girl's dog, Max. Remember when the camera guy stomped on the rat in Mrs. Espinoza's apartment? That was one of his infected rats that had escaped.
I just saw this last night and I liked it. Wasn't super great or anything, and definitely think the first section of the movie could have been cut by a good 10 minutes, but it was definitely creepy and tense. A solid movie going experience. Not quite. Spoiler The man/thing in the attic was "the man from Boston" that they hadn't seen in months. The paralytic lived with the opera teacher and his protege. I believe it was that girl's father. I don't think the landlord was actually in on it, but I think there's a possibility that the landlord knew something about the situation. Maybe he knew something questionable was going on in the attic but didn't want to lose his tenants (income) so he kept quiet. How else would you explain a landlord going months without hearing from one of his tenants? If he really thought the guy was gone and wasn't receiving payments anymore, he would have rented the space out to someone else, which would have required him to actually go into the attic and check things out. That's my take, anyway.
