Good flick. Plot was a little bit cookie cutter and Adrien Brody trying to talk like Clint Eastwood the entire movie was kinda funny but it was still worth my time and money.

It was decent but very predictable, Brody is taking himself way too serious throughout, fun and probably would have worked better if this had been made when Predator 2 was made.

    Still its fun. Solid C+

I really enjoyed it personally. Brody didn't annoy me at all. In fact, I was highly impressed. The sniper chick was awesome.

    Some things bothered me:

    1) What did That 70s Guy think was going to happen when he betrayed the other two? Was he thinking the Predator was going to be all "thanks for wounding my prey! You can be my new BFF!" It just didn't make sense that he would betray the two soldiers.

    2) The Yakuza picking up a sword and using it to kill a predator was pretty weak. I mean damn. I'm assuming that the Yakuza is not a trained Samurai who has been fighting with swords all his life. Because of that, I find it hard to believe that he could pick up a sword and kill a predator in a duel.

Alicia Braga made a new fan here too!

    1) yeah that made very little sense, I was expecting there to be some sort of twist where he was somehow working with the Predators as a mole but they just expect us to write it off as he's a serial killer and crazy.

    2) that whole sequence felt pretty out of place to me. It was pretty silly and came off as a "you know what'd be cool" throw in

Glad I wasn't the only one who felt this way! To point two...

I know it was sort of a throwback to Billy from the original predator when he decided to stop running, cut his chest with that knife and stood to fight. But guess what? A few moments later he was screaming! He was butchered like all the others. It was crazy that this Yakuza was able to beat the predator with a sword in close range combat like that when clearly the original carrier of the sword failed to do so and was undoubtedly much more skilled with the weapon.

That word does not mean what your friend thinks it means... oh and the 2nd Predators was set in LA not New York.

He rated it 33 out of 100 and you say he liked it?

Indeed, I thought the same thing. If you paid close attention, there were many parallels between Predator and Predators.

You see this a lot in movie sequels. They don't jack with the formula that made the first movie good. I don't know if that's a good thing or not, but it worked fairly well in Predators.

I think on their rating scale, 100 is total suckage, the lower the score the better the movie.

I thought it was pretty good. A fun action flick with plenty of blood and humor. I found it to be much better then Predator 2, which I didn't like at all. Not as good as the first however, but it did pay homage to it.

    6/10 stars IMO.

I rather enjoyed this movie: 7/10

It accomplishes its purpose and was just as good as the first one with A LOT of similarities. I went back and re-watched the first one a day later because of it. Very similar movies, both quite good for what they are.

I don't think the Predators really care, or even know, about good guys and bad guys as far as humans go. Its would be like us deciding who are the good deer and the bad deer. They only care about which human gives more of a challenge to hunt and clearly an unarmed human isn't going to give them much of a challenge.

Bingo. They have hunter ethics. They don't care about innocent, guilty, etc, or at least no reason has been given to believe that they do.

They've also never hesitated to shoot people in the back or kill people when they are in incredibly vulnerable situations.

I didnt think the original carrier of the sword necessarily fought the predator, but I figured that morpheus dude killed them, because he did say he was a scavenger and picked up crap "whatever, whenever, and however". So I figured he lured all of them in and killed them hence the reason why there were so many weapons, and I think I saw a skull too....

Morpheus didn't kill the original owner of that sword. The Yakuza tells you in the film that sword is very old, implying it was from the time when warriors in Japan actually carried the weapon around. (Samurai?) It was sort of like the flintlock pistol from Predator 2, meant to tell you just how long they've been doing this. Morpheus would had to have been centuries old to have killed the guy, and we know he wasn't if for no other reason he said he was there 7-10 seasons.

Either way, it's silly that the Yakuza killed the predator with that weapon in close range combat.

The Yakuza mafia is well trained in swords, they're not just a bunch goons throwing up gang signs and ****. They usually do cut off members fingers with actual swords. Now that he was as well trained as samurai, I don't know about that but the whole sword thing is not new to them just because they are a newer generation of Asian people. The Predator was also slow so I was expecting something like that.

The thing I didn't like about the movie was the actual morpheus dude. He was way lame. When he killed that thing following the doctor I was like "oh **** this dude is going to own ass" than he goes all crazy/p***y like and decides to burn everybody getting himself killed in the act.

Favorite part: When the russian dies, he spit in the Predators face and says something in russian while setting off the bombs strapped on him, what a O.G.

Better trained than a Samurai who only had a sword and fought other people who were well trained with them? I don't think so.

Agree with everything else in your post though.
