I saw the movie this weekend...some people left crying..lol Not sure if it was because they were freaked out or disappointed
I'm pretty sure it was because they were freaked out... I heard this movie goes all out... better than The Blair Witch Project... I'll probably go see it sometime next week... getting great reviews.
I definitely enjoyed the movie. The girl next to me was really freaked out and crying. I have hardly enjoyed any horror movies from this generation; it was nice to see a good horror film made. I definitely wish there was a better ending but overall it was an awesome movie to watch and actually made me freak out a little.
It is a great movie, good acting, good story. The best part is the mood. It is just a creepy film throughout. It isn't a typical Hollywood "horror" movie with copious amounts of blood and gore and stupid inane buildups to jumps synchronized with a loud noise. It seemed well thought out. Good experience. Definitely worth a watch.
I would say it is worth checking out and is interesting, but wasn't really scary to me. I did like the subtlety of it though I felt like at times it was dumbed down. Spoiler For instance, when the picture of the couple is damaged, I felt like it would've worked out better with the crack being centered on the guy alone. The claw marks and him pointing it out kind of overstated the obvious. Yes its a small gripe, oh well. Then the whole movie was fairly subtle and flirted with some ideas that were a little extreme, but the end seemed really over the top and there just to appease the audience. I understand they needed some type of stamp to end it, it just didn't feel like the rest of the film.
So I guess I'm the only one that thought the movie completely sucked? I damm near fell asleep on it....
You can blame Senor Speilbergo for the ending. He was a big supporter of the movie and suggested the ending on the finished product. I thought the ending was goofy and didn't fit in with the rest of the movie, the original ending I've heard about seemed more fitting. Spoiler Several blogs and news outlets are reporting that the ending currently being seen in theaters for the limited screenings does not match endings previously seen in earlier screenings at Screamfest and the Burbank screening. There is a frame from one of the alternate endings, found online, wherein a catatonic Katie is seen sitting, alone, next to the bed in the bedroom after the apparent murder of Micah downstairs. A third ending was also shot showing Katie returning with a knife while possessed and slits her own throat in front of the camera. The ending currently attached to the release of the film was suggested by Steven Spielberg. Many reviewers have expressed discontent with this ending saying that, while it matches the mood of the rest of the film, it comes off as anti-climactic and does not do justice to the rest of the film.[5][6][7] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paranormal_Activity_(film)
Either one of those would've been better I think. The second would have been really crazy and probably would've been a better scare to te audience.
I liked the ending as it was. The movie just didn't have enough scares up until that point. It was building up suspense and tension. For me, it needed that last jolt.
this was scary as ****...the last part of the movie had the hair on my skin standing...one of the most frightening moments during a movie that i have had...for those who want a hollywood movie with effects, go stick with the Grudge or these remake slasher flicks...this one isn't anything like those
I stayed awake only because I was anticipating something scary to happen and it never did. I have a feeling those blown away by it and those leaving the theatre screaming are from a young generation that hasn't really experienced horror/thrillers before.
I was dissapointed to say the least. Why did people find this movie so scary? The tv commercials really overhyped it.
i thought they were both terrible, but i'm obviously in the minority as most movie critics (and movie-goers it seems) felt both were great movies and among most of those, saying one was better than the other would be a ringing endorsement.
Did blair witch have any gore, or blood, or did they ever showing things randomly moving. I havent seen the whole movie I just watched some parts of it, but from what I remember Spoiler they were lost in the woods, went to some house, and were killed, and the camera didnt catch anything. Am I mistaken?
