I've read that it's Daniel Day Lewis' to lose for There Will Be Blood (which looks amazing, btw). I dunno if he'd fall into Best Actor or Supporting Actor category, but I agree, his performance was unreal.

That scene in the old gas station was great.

Yeah saw the preview for "There will be Blood" last night, Looks like Daniel Day-Lewis is up to his usual tricks. Kind of reminded me of Bill the Butcher.

I didn't hate the ending although it did leave me wanting more.

Great movie...The Coens are great with sound. I love how they didn't play much music to force the mood of scenes. There were some terrific characters in small parts thoughout the movie.

Never has the flip of a coin been so tension filled.

Great movie. Best "big" movie ending since Monster's Ball.

"You don't know what you're talking about... do you."

I can totally understand people not liking the movie, but I think it'd boil down to plot. The actual production of this movie, from the sound, to cinematography to blocking to casting... is pretty damned near perfect I think.

The grandma is maybe not good casting. I seriously think that is Holly Hunter in a ton of makeup.

I caught it earlier tonight with very high expectations and thought it was outstanding.

Great point. She really seemed out of place.

Ok, finally saw it this weekend...Actually, we tried to see if Saturday night at the Angelika in Plano, but it was sold out...We went to the Sunday matinee...

I loved this movie...Anton was the *****...That kind of scary bs talk b/f he kills you...Very smart...I didn't care for the end too much, but how else does it go...I guess I was expecting a Tony Montana type of blaze of glory...

For those of you who hated the ending, how did you expect it to end?

Someone I know said Tommy Lee Jones found the money. Did I miss something?

And thanks for resurrecting the ORIGINAL thread!

    Well, since we're talking...
I just assumed Anton found the money and left...I also thought the wife would be spared and would definitely hit it...Lastly, it would have been nice to see the gun fight instead of just having the Sheriff drive up after the fact

I saw the movie last night and thought it was very good. When we got outside the theater and my wife said it was slightly over two hours long, I couldn't believe it. I thought the movie absolutely nailed the situation and lifestyles of the characters. There were many, many good lines by Tommy Lee Jones. Some people definately won't like it. I think a lot of wives and girlfriends may not like it. Mine liked the movie, except for the ending.
I personally thought Fargo was funnier, although I laughed quite a few times during NCfOM.
