Complete 180 from the first trailer to the second.

Ant-Man might not be as grand as an Avengers or GotG movie, but it's probably going to be the funniest. Which is a really solid draw.

I think it will do well because
    1. Marvel
    2. Lowered Expectations

I don't expect it to be that great . . . good but not Great
then again GotG caught me off guard too

haha I wished they save that part about "breaking in and stealing stuff". I would have busted out laughing at that one in the theater. Just the anticipation of michael douglas saying it already had me going.

I love that they're almost being self-deprecating about how silly the concept is with the train track fight scene and the poking fun of the name "Ant-Man". This could be the first Marvel comedy.

seems generic. Wish Edgar Wright was still directing.

I saw the trailers for this when I saw Mad Max and Avengers 2 and I don't get a good feeling about this.

Its got some humor but I'm not sure how much that can carry it. It looks like a concept that Marvel, and others, have used of a misfit quirky superhero and other than the Thomas the train bit seems more like Iron Man, Green Lantern, and etc..

From what I remember of the comics was that the original Ant Man / Giant Man was Hank Pym was a very tortured genius who had psychological and substance abuse issues. It seems like Marvel missed the chance to do something that deeper and darker and instead opted to go with the same breezy formula that worked for Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy.

This one is about Scott Lang and Hank Pym. They can still do the darker stuff with Michael Douglas' Hank and keep the comedy with Paul Rudd's Scott.

I don't know about you, but I don't really care to see Pym deal with substance abuse, or Stark deal with alcoholism.

I think he can communicate with them. But I don't think he can understand ants, so it's a one-way communication. Someone educate me if I'm wrong though.

It will take the right actor and right director but Nolan and Bale showed that you can do a superhero movie with a troubled hero. Given Robert Downey's history he might be able to do a convincing portrayal of Stark struggling with alcoholism.

The current Marvel has made some attempts at exploring the darker internal struggles of their characters. The last Iron Man was supposed to be a darker look at Tony Stark struggling with the what happened in NY but instead got bogged down with more gee whiz gadgetry of his suit and a rather silly villainous plot by Guy Pearce.

I'll probably skip it. Pretty sick of super hero movies, didn't even bother with Avengers 2.
