Interestingly, I saw the Lin documentary about one year ago. The Manny documentary was much better. The story is more compelling. The poor villagers in the Philippines gathering to watch him fight on a crap 13 inch tv was compelling. And, like Lin, there's the faith portion too. Also, it's a career not a short winning streak. Recaps all the big fights with DelaHoya and Marquez etc . They do talk about Mayweather, the BS loss to Bradley and the loss to Marquez. They show you lots of insight to what went down. Favorite doc of SXSW.

there's no tmac documentary, that would be more like a south park episode where Kenny and Tmac try to make it past the first round The documentary was really good, Liam Neeson is the narrator , also Mark Walberg and Jeremy Piven are in it as well. Manny is a true rags from riches story, like really rags, his family didn't live in silicon valley, they lived in some village with like donkeys and pigs
Just finished watching the trailer. Some Filipino personalities in there and a good narration by Liam. This is gonna be better than the Linsanity movie. Don't get me wrong, that doc wasn't bad. But this one will be better and could be a good watch.
I'm familiar with Manny and his life story. I watched his life documentary during his early tenure broadcasted back in the Philippines a decade ago. But this one will be a sure hit in terms of documentaries. Thanks again Tinman.
Tracy already had a documentary about Darfur. What have you done to assist with Darfur? I don't recall it being played at sxsw, so this documentary must be soooooo not cool.
Manny should be better, looks like it had more money backing it. Linsanity was made by aspiring film directors going through kickstarter. Imagine if Spike Lee or somebody like that did linsanity. Manny is a true rags to riches story. Boxing always makes good fodder for movies/documentaries.
Does it talk about how he's against contraception ? I hope they don't mention his other career outside the ring too much.
