The only reason I didn't see Kick-Ass is because he was in it. If he dies in it, though, it is now a must-see. Kinda like how Executive Decision was a must-see because Steven Segal dies.
Extremely good movie - I'd enjoy seeing the sequel. I think the comic book movie burnout hurt its chances - which is a shame because it's right at the top of the genre. Hit Girl FTW Oh, and thank GOD Michael Cera wasn't in it. I'm ready for him to get hit by a bus.
You dont want to see it just because one actor plays a supporting role in it? Not to mention Nic Cage isn't even a bad actor. In a bunch of bad movies, yes, but hes not a bad actor. Specially here, he does a fantastic job in Kick-Ass.
I think the issue was in the way it was marketed. The commercials made the movie seem extremely kiddy and comedic. Granted it did have funny parts, but it was definitely not a comedy. Like others have said a lot of people expected it to be like Epic Movie or some garbage. I didn't go see it until after I had seen a lot of other movies for example. Hopefully they do a better job with the next one.
Okay, I'll watch his movies...I just won't pay to watch his movies. If Kick-Ass was on TV I'd watch it, but the reason I didn't pay to see it in theaters was because he was in it.
Saw Kick-Ass last week and I fairly enjoyed it. Didn't expect a whole lot but I was pretty entertained. The plot for the 2nd one sounds pretty interesting though.
Watched it again last night. I'll be happy if the sequel is more hit-girl centric. She really stole the spotlight.
I thought it was freakin awesome. Just as good if not better than the first one. Definitely washed away the terrible terrible Elysium from my mind.
You guys must be watching a different version from what I saw. Mother Russia was probably the highlight for me but the film still sucked.
