And this is all going to be in the hands of JJ Abrams who is, imo, one of the most overrated directors in the past 20-30 years. But if you're going to reboot a franchise there's no one better to get than Mr. Reboot himself.

This is too many reboots and too many people playing the same character

regardless if they make Superman Asian, Mexican or Black.

You're right, just have it make sense.

    Black Panther was always Black.

And if you change the race like Samuel L Jackson did for Nick Fury, make sure it's the same person the whole time for a least 4 movies.

This is a thing in DC comics. But, it would only make sense if she went by her name, Yara Flor, instead of Diana.

I generally agree that Superman isn't exactly white, he's Kryptonian, and I've made your argument in the past. But, there are so many cool black comic book characters to make a live action movie about. I would actually go with Icon who's story is very similar but is better intertwined with black culture. It's just lazy and it makes people think that you're using blackness as a tool to inject variety in a story that we've all seen before.

As far as global popularity (things like box office numbers), DC ... maybe unsurprisingly, is very popular in Brazil. Yara was created partly to appeal to that fan base.

We don’t need a Superman reboot. They just did that.

Cavill is a pretty wooden actor but he looks the part and it kind of works for the role.

If I'm Marvel/Disney, I'm casting Henry Cavill as Hyperion immediately.

They don't make money. Studios do what makes money.

Why do they need a black super man why not just cast an black actor for a black superhero.

I really dont care because I would watch any superhero property, but why? lol. It's like they want to cause strife on purpose.

To go from never adapting a John Stewart Green Lantern because they didn't think fans would like it despite fans growing up with John Stewart from the cartoons to going full Black Superman is hilarious.

I don't think Marvel has really made anything GREAT either but Marvel has not made anything terrible which I think sets them apart.

I just rewatched Aquaman and I would put it in the top 5 of comic movies I really like Man of Steel as well.

Marvel has a lot of just ok movies especially evering after Infinity war and before endgame.

GG2 super meh, AntMan and Wasp meh, Captain Marvel meh.

Gonna be interesting to see how marvel does with these next crops of films because they are in a bit of a slump if you ask me.

The Black Panther has to be family of royalty, thats a big difference if you are just putting in a white dude and you know the whole Wakanda africa thing but what evs.

I have no idea of why people are upset that he is Kal EL or Clark Kent he is still an alien taking on a new name.

A lot of people just need **** to be upset about.

I did not even know there was a black superman and it kind of looks like a copy and a reach for the woke dollars, was the black superman comic that popular?

They should have just rebooted GL and went with the black one, I think that's a huge miss.

I really think they need to do a Young Justice series of movies and get that YA money.

He'll just have so many lens flares that you won't be able to tell the race of the Superman.
