Sigourney Weaver says she was weeping at the end of Avatar: http://socialitelife.celebuzz.com/archive/2009/12/08/avatar_made_sigourney_weaver_weep_.php
The first screening was yesterday in London I think, supposedly got great reviews (100% on rottentomatoes). Going to have to buy tickets early for this........
Empire, the Sun, and Hollywood Reporter gave it a perfect check out this footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht5MFMAaXNQ
100% until Armind White gets a chance to see it... Regardless, the movie is looking to set a benchmark in the way we watch movies! One more week! As one review said "The king of the world is back!"
Armind White is an a-hole. His review of The Princess and the Frog was completely offensive. I want to kick him in the nuts.
Roger Ebert gave it 4/4 stars and said "I felt sort of the same as when I saw "Star Wars" in 1977." http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20091211/REVIEWS/912119998 Also, Steven Spielberg said the same thing: I haven't seen anything like this since Star Wars 1977!

Wow, those clips posted look fantastic. I can't wait to see this movie at IMAX. I've never seen an IMAX movie or a 3d one before. Is it a big difference?
IMAX = bigger screen, louder sound, and clearer picture. 3D is just fantastic STRAP ON YOUR SEATBELTS CFER'S
Cool clip. Thanks for sharing. I am mixed on Avatar. On one hand I am looking forward to the experience. But on the other hand when I look at the CGI instead of getting sucked into the movie it makes me think more of a Video game cut scene more than anything. So that kind of takes away from the visual. Maybe on a big screen it won't feel that way. Anyone else feel that way?
it better be damn amazing because it looks like a poor mix of an action movie + kids cartoon + generic plot.
the two closest IMAX theaters to me have reserved seating one of them had all the seats except the first row filled from the thursday midnight showing until tuesday night sold out the other one somehow had the backrow of the friday 345pm showing open..the entire row so i bought the two middle seats... the other imax is part of the century city mall which is an upscale outdoor shopping mall so while it attracts a good amount of customers it is not as crowded as the other place where the movie theater is the big draw.
