I'm completely dumfounded. I cannot fathom how in the world so many people are in love with this movie. I thought it was dreadful. I mean yeah the last 20 minutes or so were good - but i had to sit through over 2 hours of rubbish to get to it. The dialogue was just horrendous and in parts excrutiating to listen to. "I see you" "... I see you" Wow. I think too many people gave into the hype and just went along with saying this was a great movie. Definitely overrated in my opinion. Definitely.
Did anyone see this in regular 3D vs. IMAX 3D? Is there a big difference, since they dont use the whole screen of the IMAX? I want to go watch it today but the IMAX is sold out at edwards, not sure if its worth it to wait.
Did you not understand the meaning behind what that phrase meant to the Na'vi? They explained it briefly when he was training with the other Avatar driver. It was about really truly seeing someone, not just with their eyes but with their heart and soul. I see you to them meant I see all of you, your spirit, your love etc. It was their expression of love and devotion to one another. Spoiler That made the scene at the end when she saved Jake and was holding this broken fragile human who she realized that she was in love with much more special when she said that phrase.
^^ One of my favorite moments of the movie. And I'd recommend seeing it in IMAX 3D ...for whatever reason I felt the 3D aspect was better than Real 3D ...unless my eyes had adjusted to it.
Visuals were simply unbelievable, this movie must be seen in 3D. The story was fairly typical of the bad guys invade and indigenous people genre, but it was still good plus there were some bad ass fighting scenes. Best movie I have seen this year by far, but this is a bit of a down year for deep, smug movies, so idk
Saw this movie at the Studio Movie Grill with the kids in 3d.. I give it a 8 out of 10 rating.. Might of been a 9 if not with the kids.. To be honest I was rooting for the General the whole time because he was such a bad a@#.. And man if Cameron came make another movie I hope it would be another military movie with because I loved the arsenal, gun ships,etc... But this is not the best movie of the year it has to be Star Trek because that just blew my mind.
I bought tickets at Fandango at what I thought was IMAX but apparently I did it wrong. Anyway, I decided to go anyway after I found out and it was awesome. I'm sure IMAX is better but you'll probably see this movie more than once anyway so go ahead.
He acted exactly how a lot of Marine gung ho types with rank do. Seen plenty of those types so there was nothing that really stood out to me about him, but it was cool seeing it on screen. The only thing that annoyed me was the overuse of "Jarhead." Should have been Devil Dog. I even heard "Gyrene" thrown in there. But, i agree that he should continue using military/war scenes in his movies.

Where have you heard that? He's stated from the beginning (of his return) that his next film was going to be Battle Angel, which now it looks set to be released in 2011...although I thought originally it wouldn't be out to 2013. I think I may have heard him open to the idea of returning to Pandora, and that the film leaves that possibility open...but nothing confirmed.
