Mind = Blown Story-wise, yes, very solid but nothing amazing. Aesthetically like nothing I've ever seen. I CANNOT wait to see this in IMAX 3D.
Do I really have to see this in 3d because those glasses are annoying for a 1 and a half hour cartoon, I can't imagine being comfortable in a 2.5 hour movie. Is it not in just imax no 3d?
just got home watching a 12:40am showing at First Colony 24 saw it on 3D cause well First Colony's Imax theater is a fake one..... epic stuff, have to say though, probably be a one time viewing for me either that, or just watch it again during the day time have to say, Michelle Rodriguez looked pretty damn hot in her wife beater on
Wow. I'm spoiled now. My very first Imax 3d viewing for a movie. I don't think anything can ever live up to it now. Movie was amazing. Never at any point did I feel bored. Story was decent, and some of the characters decision making seemed a bit unrealistic, but it was fun. The previews does not do this movie justice.
Have to echo everyone else on this. I saw in in 3D, and it was my first 3D movie. It was absolutely amazing. It's a must see.
I haven't seen a good James Cameron movie since True Lies, and I bet I don't see this one for the same reason I did not see Titanic (until years later...I knew how it ended ).
why is this? good thing you mentioned that, because i've been looking at times there. i was surprised to see that they had one listed because i thought edwards i10 was the only theater with an imax.
AMC IMAX isn't exactly fake...yeah it's a smaller screen, but I saw the Avatar Day preview on it and the 3D was every bit as good as the standard size IMAX at Edwards. You're not missing much, besides the 60ft screen, which it doesn't even use all of since the movie wasn't filmed in IMAX.
Saw it last night as well. Visually this is the best movie I have ever witnessed being Imax 3d and like everybody else the story is good but not great. Sometimes it does feel like you are there and you feel like swapping bugs or wanna get out the way when there's a gun pointed at you.
It's true though... I mean the true IMAX experience has to be in it's real size. Look at the difference between AMC's IMAX and real IMAX. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=U...29.53284,-95.386047&spn=1.883048,2.469177&z=9 That link shows you some theaters that people reviewed to determine between LieMax and the real IMAX. I can assure the Edwards Marquee one is the real deal... best place to go see it.. you get your money's worth.
I didn't compared to watching Superman Returns on Imax 3D and that was just selected scenes, not the whole movie. I understand its the same equipment, sound systems and whatnot, but when u hear "Imax" its watching on the huge ass screen, not the enhance sound system. Plus I notice they used different glasses rather than the real3D harry potter glasses, so I'm sure theres some kind of difference. EDIT: forgot to add, was I the only one that the first thing you said your in head when you saw Norm was, "THATS THE DUDE IN GRANDMA'S BOY!!!!"
AMC IMAX is not bad folks! In the Huge IMAX, although it's a better experience the screen is formatted as in the whole screen isn't used. AMC IMAX the screen is FULL the WHOLE time. Trust me it won't be a bad experience
I actually got used to the effects to the point where I almost stopped noticing them. I really think this movie spoiled me though, and I don't think I'll be impressed by another 2D action movie again. JC raised the bar on movie special effects by introducing cgi in T2, now with 3D in Avatar.
Silverado IMAX3D in tomball is very nice. I used to always go to Edwards, but now i go to Silverado, mainly cuz they have beer and fotty's. Nothing better than watching an awesome movie while sippin on a 40. But, it is very nice and clean and new. The only weak thing is the sound imo. It's not as loud as Edwards. I was so pissed, wanting them to turn up the volume in AVATAR and for TDK...
