I really liked the first one, but don't have high expectations for the 2nd. Plus, I think the advertisements/endorsements were completely overboard for this one.
Gonna see it this weekend with the gf.. yuss!!! I'm so excited and I just can't hide it I'm about to lose control and I think I like it... /retro song
I think I am going to try to see the Midnight show on Thursday. For no other reason than I have never went to one of those midnight shows Rocket River
Is there really a difference? I think the only difference in a midnight showing is that it's less annoying kids and me driving home really fatigued.
Thanks for not banning me whoever that is it charge. Won't happen again. I did it before and no one said anything so I thought it was alright to post a link.
I did this a few times many years ago, for like Matrix 2. And that was when I lived in College Station and drove with friends to Houston I haven't done it in a while because of work, but now I'm going to do it for this with some friends. It's fun because there are no kids (like the other poster wrote), but also because all the die-hards are in attendance: people who go oohhh and aahh and clap when there's some significant comic book reference and then clap at the end of the movie. I'm not sure if this happens at all theaters or just the special big ones.
My brother did this once, I'm not sure what movie it was (I think it might have been Beowolf) and he was the only one clapping at the end. Embarrassing. I went to a midnight showing once, I forgot what it was... I think it was Fantastic 4 with Silver Surfer... and these annoying ladies kept on talking "oh uh-uh you saw dat?" and "oh gurll I woulda [yadda yadda yadda]..." So that was one of my experiences. I guess it differs depending on what movie you're watching.
I stopped doing midnight screenings a few years back esp during the summer sure its a packed house but you have to get there hours before the start and wait in line and its usually really cold at that time also if its a summer blockbuster like this you primarily get a high school crowd (even more so during the summer months) and they are 80% of the time really annoying its also late you get home at like 2am+ and you have work the next day not to mention I've gone to midnight screenings in the past all tired from a long day of work and getting ready to fall asleep at the theater I'd rather just got to a 10am show friday (luckily i have flexibility in my work schedule to do this) and see it then without any of the hassles
Those are all legitimate issues. Fortunately, I have a free Friday and some AMC Gold passes. DC area high schools are still in session so hopefully it'll be just a bunch of comic geeks and normal people with a fun atmosphere. I think the weather will be nice tonight but yeah, the line waiting will suck...but not so much if you're with a fun group and drinking b4. I think I'll bring my Flip and film the line...I go to this 1 theater big screen that gets crazy during big releases.
Hmm.. only 71% on Rotten.. not as good as the first one. I thought it might be as good as Spider-Man 2 and Dark Knight were for their respective prequels.
My friends convinced me to go the midnight release with them. And theater is showing the first Iron Man at 9, so we decided to see that too, figured it'd be cool to see them both in a row. Only my second midnight movie, first being the Dark Knight.
