Damn, this movie was funny as hell. I laughed pretty consistently all the way through. Right on par with (maybe a little better than) Pineapple Express, and a lot better than Forgetting Sarah Marshall, IMO. Paul Rudd is gold, of course. And Segel was really likable. They make a cute pair. And of course Rashida Jones was pretty smokin'... I Love You, Man is a winner. Haven't seen such a solid comedy in awhile. I was surprised it wasn't an apatow movie.
I would totally go out on a man date with either Paul Rudd or Jason Segel. This movie was right up there with most of the apatow comedies on funny level (The guy who directed this also worked on Undeclared, so thats his Apatow connection) Not a lot of hot chicks, but Jamie Preisley, Andy Samberg, and Jon Favreau were great in supporting roles.
The trailer didn't look too impressive to me. Now I might have to go watch it. Thanks for the heads up.
advanced screening at the new studio movie grille on Beltway West and I-10. I think if you look hard enough, free passes have been circulating everywhere.
good stuff, Jon Farveau stole the show Rudd/Segal are gold as always, can't argue with their performance. I still have a soft spot for loving Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but this movie was solid all around. btw, the Studio Movie Grill is pretty solid, then again, we went on the 2nd day it was open , great comfy office chair seats and got to check out the pizza days when I can make it to a Wed/Thurs/Sun showing. you gotta join the cool members club....
havent heard about this movie. i thought forgetting sarah marshall was pretty great. the hotness of the 70's show chick, and the rockstar guy in the movie were freaking awesome.
they had a screening out here about 2 weeks ago my friend got passes and we went. pretty solid movie too in my opinion i love me some rashida jones
You forgot to add the disclaimer "no mazyar". Or does that only apply to going on a man date with RuPaul?
I will check this out since I like these actors and I'm a Rush fan. I heard a cover of "Limelight" these actors did which was awesome.
Studio Movie Grills are one of the things I love up here in Dallas. Been going to them since I moved up here in 99'.
I saw this last month at a screening and while I didn't love the movie, I have to say the trailer is terrible and does not do the movie justice at all. The red band trailer, on the other hand, actually does a better job of framing the plot... <object width="720" height="455"><param name="movie" value="http://www.traileraddict.com/emd/8275"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.traileraddict.com/emd/8275" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" wmode="transparent" allowfullscreen="true" width="720" height="455"></embed></object>
IMO Sarah Marshall was better than Pineapple Express. I had to watch P.E. high a second time to LMAO. Anyway I thought this movie was gonna be funny, it's out already? Or you coped a bootleg? HA HA
