Well you're right about that. My mistake. Harry did join the fight and flex some muscle. But Tonks comment is taken out of context just a little. You make it sound like Harry was the savior, but he really wasn't...not completely. He did fend off some Death Eaters. But when Tonks says they were losing, she never mentions Harry. She talks about how hexes were flying all over the place, yet somehow they were able to doge them. And then another Death Eater used a hex that brought the ceiling down and destroyed the curse that was blocking the staircase. Then more fighting...then Snape showed up and said it's done. So by the time Harry enters the scene, the fight is winding down anyways. That's not to discount what he did, merely that the fighting was already concluding and the others did have the Felix Felicis that allowed them to survive.

I think already have a good impression as to what type of wizard Harry is...we know he is strong based on his actions in the other movies. In this one we do see him flex a little muscle, though not as much as the book indicates. And I loved the fight in the book, but I just don't see the absolute need to have it in the film...I'll guess we'll have to just disagree on that.

But here's another interesting point. Harry comes in at the end of the fight in the book. The rest of the fight is pretty much explained afterwards. So to show the whole fight, the filmmakers would have to do something that's only been done a few times in the whole series and that is to leave Harry's point of view.

Skimming back through the book, I'm quite amazed that they didn't just stick to the dialogue exactly as written in the end...it would have worked so much better... I think this is one moment they should have stuck to what was written...

"You dare use my own spells against me, Potter? It was I who invented them - I, the Half-Blood Prince! And you'd turn my inventions on me, like your filthy father, would you? I don't think so...no!"

"Kill me then," panted Harry. "Kill me like you killed him, you coward -"

    "DONT...CALL ME COWARD!"

    ---

That works better than..."You dare use my own spells against me? Yes, I am the Half-Blood Prince."
