Just finished the book. Read the last three books in a span of 1 and a half months, after taking a break from the series with the completion of the 4th book years ago. Love it, and I can't wait for the movie to come out. It's interesting to see what part they take out/alter. I'm probably going to go to the midnight showing; just so I can see all the Harry Potter dorks dress up for the occasions.
I have never really cared for the movies (LOVED the books), but that last trailer posted looked pretty awesome...
Extremely excited for this and am so glad the decision was made to do it in two parts.... I also support the movement for a hotter Ginny
My wife is into these, so I've been dragged to the last three or four of these movies. I've actually been okay with most of them, but the last one was freakin' terrible. This looks pretty decent though.

I don't get the hype behind the films, I've seen almost all of them (not by choice), but none have gotten me into it. I've been told to read the books, I'm sure I'd be more appreciative of it if I did. But as a stand alone product the movies themselves are childish and with terrible acting to boot. I can see why teenagers might like it, but I find it funny when grown adults go wacko over them.
It's magic, it's make believe, it's entertaining, good visual, better story line than 9 out of 10 grown up movies. I enjoy the movies for what they are. What are you looking for?
Don't think I'll go for the premier, but I think I'll watch it during the weekend or early in the week next week. Getting pretty good reviews so far on RottenTomatoes.
Couldn't disagree more. I actually got into the films before even reading the books. And while the first 2 films are definitely childish, the same cannot be said for any of the other movies/books. Each installment has gotten progressively darker and more intense. While it may not be on par with something like LOTR, I find the universe Rowling created to be quite rich. And the acting, far from horrible. In fact it's quite decent imo...the supporting cast is absolutely superb and the child/teenage actors more than hold their own. Really the only problem I've ever had was Alan Rickman's delivery in the last scene of Half-Blood Prince. Honestly I don't see too much of a difference between Harry Potter and something like Star Wars...in fact Star Wars I could easily argue has more juvenile moments.
I'm excited for it. Should wait until Saturday though. Work and school don't stop just because a movie comes out... though, if you can get into a midnight showing and it doesn't disrupt your lives, help yourselves... and, speaking of eye candy, Tom Felton looks great all grown up.
We're doing our traditional "1st show of the day on Sunday" thing. Everyone's at church and we get the run of the place.
Checking it out first thing Saturday, the last 3 movies really made some strong strides so I'm curious how they do with the finales.
I think this movie will freak out my kiddos. but there'll be no way they'll miss it....can't wait. They've really done an awesome job with the movies so far (and I typically don't care for these fantasy world type stories). I don't know how easy to follow they'd be if you hadn't read the books.
