Got back from a private screening held by a client about an hour ago and was writing my review for Gunaxin. Enjoyed the hell out of it. A great conclusion to the series and I have only minor nitpicks from the book. I recommend it for all ages. Oh, and I know, pics or it didn't happen:

Awesome movie from an awesome franchise. I grew up with Potter and it has been one hell of a ride.

Movie was amazing! And to think up until 9 months ago I had never seen a Harry Potter movie.

The only thing I was disappointed was missing out on the Batman trailer...Can you believe they didn't show the Batman trailer in the 3D show...so pissed.

That was incredible. Did not let down for a single moment and it feels like my childhood is officially over.

Terrific ending. They did the book justice for the most part and I couldn't be more satisfied. I'm trying to figure out when I have time to watch it again lol

Also, I really liked the Harry 3D glasses.

Not sure what to think.... I feel like I did after Phoenix and Half Blood .... That I need to watch it again to get a better grasp. Some things they nailed, some right now I'm not sure. Some minor things really. As for the epilogue, I definitely need to see that part again. And I'm wondering if that's one area where they should have taken more creative license. I dunno. Cant help but compare it to Return of the King's epilogue and think maybe it could have been more.

Definitely liked it...I think put together Deathly Hallows will be my favorite by far. I wonder if they'll come out with a blu ray that combines them.

    The 3D experience was EPIC.

Snape's pensieve scene was bone-chilling, and the visual stimulation was off the charts (most notably the battle scene at Hogwarts with the stone knights/giants/shield surrounding the castle)... also, anyone else surprised at how prominent Neville Longbottom's role was in comparison to Hagrid, Ginny, and even Ron? I understand he was responsible for destroying one of the Horcruxes (Nagini) and they were required to build up his character in anticipation of such a momentous event, but he was all over the place.

The look on Nevilles face when the shield went down was hilarious.

Just watched it last night. Having read all the books back in the day and being ahead of the movies, I wasn't blown away by it. Good but as always books are better.

Did love the battle scene though, almost Lord of the The Rings like, when they had the death eaters all waiting to attack and the guards vs giants. Also the scenes explaining Snape's thoughts in the pensieve were well done.

Personally I think there's plenty of spin off potential left.

Having let it settled a bit...I definitely enjoyed it. But I think my two things with the film are that it's not a complete film. It's very obvious that this is the Third Act in the larger story, and PtI was acts 1 and 2. So in that sense, this film stands on it's own the least out of any of them. And I almost wished they could have expanded the film an extra 15-20 minutes. There was a lot to get through and I almost wished they spent just a little bit more time on some of the supporting characters. Extra few minutes here, extra minute there.

And then the epilogue...I wanna see it again to see how much I liked it, but here would have been my idea.

Maybe it would have worked maybe not. But I think it would have been cool to use the newspaper transition to segway into the eiplogue. And you see all these headlines over the 19 years that pass before the epiologue. Maybe you see a headline where the Weasley's store is to remain open in memory of Fred (and maybe the picture has some new magic "prank" he cooked up that honors him. Another headline shows Hermione, graduating Hogwarts the top of her class, to take a position within office of Magical Law. And then another years later showing her becoming Head of Magical Law enforcement, promising to revolutionize the dept. Another explaining Lucious to be convicted and sentenced to Azkaban, while Draco is cleared of all wrongdoing. Harry and Ron to become aurors. Hogwarts to welcome new herbology teacher, Neville Longbottom. And just of host of others. Shacklebolt to become new Minister of Magic. Use the bits that Rowling already wrote but also work with her to fill in the blanks on some of the other characters. Just quick headlines like they did in some of the other movies. And then it goes into the epilogue. And then when it closes on the shot of them all in the epilogue, it transitions to a shot of the three from the first film and cuts to quick shots of them as they progress through the series and mature. And then finally ends back on the shot of them overlooking the countryside just after they defeat Voldemort. And it pans out showing Hogwarts destroyed, with the sun having risen in the background. So it kind of shows what happens to them in the future, but it ends on the shot of them in the present, the sun representing the rays of hope now. Maybe that's a little too much, but I dunno, might have been cool. At least the newspaper part would have been interesting. But then maybe it wouldn't have fit into the context of the movie, as Parts I and II are very different films from any of the others.

Glad to see it's breaking records....hopefully it buries anything regarding Twilight and puts that crap in its place. But it brings back feelings of LOTR. Like I feel fortunate to have witnessed some truly special film-making but sad that is has come to an end.

I've seen the first movie and that's it. I have no intention of sitting down and watching the other 5 or 6 before I'm dragged to see this one next weekend. Can I get by with reading some plot summaries somewhere and then catching part 1 on blu ray before going to see this new one?
