Harry Potter still takes place in a modern 90's Britain, right? So why don't they just buy guns and shoot Voldemort?

Official trailer for part 2 has hit the web. Apparently the one that was posted above about a week and a half ago was a very well done fan made trailer.

Gotta start re-reading the books/re-watching the movies to get ready for this. Can't wait.

I'm one of the few that never read the books...so I'm sitting on pins and needles waiting for this final movie...and it looks ****in' awesome!!!


My daughter, who is 9, has never been into the HP movies...but we started her on reading the Sorcerer's Stone and she is totally digging it. So I can't wait until she's read each book and we can sit down and watch the movies together.

 

Of all the summer movies I'm looking forward to this one the most. Stoked.

 

Absolutely. So fun to share things like this with your kids. My older boy (11) has read and re-read every book in this series more times than I can count.

So many great object lessons in there...some of the final scenes in Order of the Phoenix are so great for talking about the power of love over hate, in particular. Just a great series of books and the movies tell them well.

 

Looks great, I haven't read the books but the last 3 or 4 have been very well done.

 

I thought the animation scene that explains what "the deathly hallows" are was beautifully done.

I was a big fan of director David Yates before he took over the series, based solely on "State of Play" (not the mediocre Affleck/Crowe movie, but the British miniseries it's based on). He's done everything starting with "Phoenix" and I've been very impressed. The movies have become much more visually inventive. I'm looking forward to this movie as well as Yates' post-Potter work.

 

Great looking trailer. Part 1 was a bit of a bore, hopefully this wraps it up with a bang.

The Voldemort character doesn't seem like a very bad guy, just a little obsessed with his child nemesis. His "likes" include big snakes that don't do much harm, dark colors, and a light show from his stick.
