[Movie] Green Lantern

Hmm... it looks like a movie to catch in theaters. Don't really go too often, but I think this one is for the big picture.

"Fan-made" or "Fan-edited". However you care to look at it.

He basically took clips from different sources and spliced them together, then threw in some of his own elements (like the ring). Here's the description from the YouTube page.

 

Of all the superhero properties out there, I've always considered GL one of the hardest to make 'work' as a movie. Interesting to finally see them give it a shot.

This movie is going to kick ass...especially if they have most of it set in space and be just a little creative with what Green Lantern makes out of his ring.

 

So GL is not black?

 

There better be a Kilowog sighting . I think a GL movie would flop big time. I just dont see how they could pull it off without looking like a cheesy superman wannabe type movie.

 

Green Lantern John Stewart is black, but he is the third human Green Lantern, and the two preceding him were white (Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner). There is another human Green Lantern that came later named Kyle Rayner who is half white and half latino. Presumably the movie will be about Hal Jordan.

They can do it by having respect for the source material and staying true to the story elements that make the Green Lantern nothing like Superman, such as being part of an interstellar police/military organization, being a human being with a powerful tool at his disposal, and being just another one in a line of beings to carry his title (as opposed to (one of) the last survivor(s) of his entire species).

 

Thanks for clearing that up. Why Hal Jordan over Guy Gardner?

The best part of the movie should be the rings and the objects they project.

 

Why not? If he's the first one it would make sense to start there.

 

Aside from him being the first one, he's also one of the most popular and iconic figures in DC comic history.

God that looks really crappy. I was worried the minute I heard they were making the suit CGI.

 

I bet it looks dreamy in 3D.

In a uhhhhhh non-flaming way that is.

 

As long as they get the access permissions and configuration right on the server, there's no reason why they can't make it /CGI-BIN/

I don't know what to think but I have to say the Kato mask is terrible. I think this is a bit more alien like costume which I think it's better suited then a stitch uniform. But I think the human muscular system is a bit too much.
