OMG, was not expecting it to be this good. The first 20 mins dragged a bit, but once they got the car, it took off, and the ending was perfect. If you loved Ghostbusters in the 80s, this one hits you right in the feels. 5 out of 5 stars for me. DD
We saw it last week. Really really enjoyed it. The end credits scenes are good also. 9 out of 10 for me. My older son is home from college so I am going to see it again with him
Spoiler The ghost of Ramus was so amazingly done Just really enjoyed the end - did not expect those emotions. DD
Yea...a few reviewers who I read reviews from on this film were not kind. They basically hated it. Said it was totally not funny and the acting was bad. But, references in the film back to 80s nostalgia from the first two films rules the day! I'm actually shocked Bill Murray decided to take part in this one. I seem to recall they had a hard time getting him back to do number 2. I thought he was over it.
I wonder if those reviewers like the 2016 movie which was terrible except for Kate McC I wonder if those reviewers liked the 2016 version which was terrible except for Kate Mckinnon. This movie was really good.

Pretty much spot on, and while a little nostalgia is ok, too much isn't. I enjoyed the film and it definitely felt like a Ghostbusters movie to me, but there were parts that didn't work, moments where the plot got lazy and became an almost shot for shot rehash of the first film. I also felt the final act suffered from the same mistake that the all-female version did. The big final fight between our heroes and the villain fell flat because no one else in the world knew what was happening. In the first two films, NYC galvanized behind the team to fight the baddies. One of my favorite moments in the first was them pulling up to the apartment building with police escort to a whole lot of fanfare. You could sense the excitement and the adrenaline. These last two movies, there has been none of that. Think they could have developed some of the new characters better too, but the humor I liked. Paul Rudd is not a Murray, Akroyd, and Ramis in their primes, but he did just fine.
They should have all three of the old white Ghostbusters die and then come back in Ghostbusters V as ghosts to expand the business nationwide. There could be procedural scenes with fights if ghosts are legally allowed to run corporations. Inner conflict of imprisoning's fellow ghosts. The best part is you can digital de age these old basterds. It's gonna be great.
