Well considering the crap about GI JOE standing for Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity in this live action movie, the more appropriate opening sequences are these: <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hWSukwidtVs&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hWSukwidtVs&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2A9aNtKkSwI&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2A9aNtKkSwI&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BRf4c-p6VWg&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BRf4c-p6VWg&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Fraser Gung-Ho For G.I. Joe And The Rock To Get Shipwrecked? Date: April 3, 2008 By: El Mayimbe Source: El Mayimbe EL MAYIMBE AQUI! YET ANOTHER LATINO REVIEW EXCLUSIVE! I have just learned through my sources that BRENDAN FRASER has booked the role of GUNG HO for Stephen Sommer’s big screen live-action adaptation of "G.I. Joe." Now, it is only a one scene cameo. The scene is question is a training sequence at THE PIT. Brendan already shot his part. Me personally, I always thought GUNG HO was the most gay looking of the Joes. I mean come on, the tattooed chest, the vest with no shirt on and that hat?! If there was a soldier in the VILLAGE PEOPLE, GUNG HO would definitely be it! I also learned that AN OFFER has been made to THE ROCK for the role of HECTOR DELGADO aka SHIPWRECK. At this time THE ROCK hasn’t said either yes or no, but the offer is out to him. Can THE ROCK smell what Shipwreck is cooking? We should find out soon enough. I knew it was only a matter of time before they would start offering Latino roles to THE ROCK who is Samoan. http://www.latinoreview.com/news/fraser-gung-ho-for-g-i-joe-and-the-rock-to-get-shipwrecked-4331 <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QfayRI0DeXw"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QfayRI0DeXw" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
this is what the halo movie would look like if made by its hypothetical director, neil blomkamp. actually looks pretty sweet. http://youtube.com/watch?v=GmczG9JQAnY
It's more than just that. Executives are afraid to trust their own judgment and make their own decisions on whether something is good or not, so they latch on to things that other people have already approved. Hence, you not only get remakes and comic book movies or movies from old TV shows, but you also get the weird situations where every exec in town passes on a script only to have that writer turn the script into a novel and then immediately turn around and see a bidding war among the same execs to buy the script they all passed on before even before the novel hits store shelves.
I've come to the conclusion.... I need to become a casting director, because some of these just flat out suck...it's not like the even tried. I'll give my sample of G.I. Joe cast: General Hawk: Dennis Quaid (one of the few they got right). Cobra Commander: ?????? Wild Bill: Chuck Norris (who else) Flint: Josh Brolin Lady Jaye: Sigorney Weaver (if she was somewhat younger) maybe Jill Hennessy Destro: Tony Todd (the actor played Candyman) The Baroness: Jennifer Connelly or Rose McGowan Dr.Mindbinder: Elias Koates Zartan: Triple HHH Scarlett: Laura Prepon Beachhead: ?????? Major Bludd: Terrence Howard Snake-Eyes: Someone who is martial artist and stands at least 6,4. Road Block: Terry Crews Quick Kick: Tony Jaa Shipwreck: Eddie Izzard (mainly because of his voice and facial features) Snow Storm: See Snakeeyes SGT Slaughter: Who do you think? Beach Head: Keith David Ace: David Keith Dusty: Channing Tatum It's hard casting G.I. Joe, because the characters in the comics and cartoon looked very harden and badass....
I wonder if Ray Park playing such an iconic character like Snakeyes will lead to the Iron Fist movie being brought back.

I'm kind of disappointed in that picture of Scarlett. She needs to be a real redhead. That chick looks more brownish-red. Oh well. I still can't wait to see this movie.
WWTDD has a crap load of pics. http://wwtdd.com/post.phtml?pk=5103 You can't copy images from his site anymore btw (he got some nude pics of some chick from some mtv show and had to protect his exclusive). EDIT: And yeah, this movie keeps looking worse and worse to me.
Much like Transformers, I think it's hard to get a gauge on how the movie will be from very basic cast shots. I need to see them in action first, or at least stills from the movie itself.
