People that hate these movies shouldn't be allowed to watch them anyway. They probably do not understand the concept or are not manly enough. They can sit at home and watch Frozen for the 100th time. It is just supposed to be fun. I will most likely be there opening weekend. Seeing all of the old action stars teaming up for a movie is entertaining. The acting might not be the best.....the story might not be that great but manliness and nostalgia are enough to make it worth it.
I dont think you can say someone doesn't 'understand' or aren't 'manly' because they dont like piss poor action movies. These movies are made for the masses, the sheep. When you acquire taste and appreciation for real cinema, **** like this makes you sick.
Wow.....I guess you did not sense the humor in my post but I might have overreacted a little. I don't actually think that you will be at home watching Frozen for the 100th time while sipping your merlot and contrasting the variations of art house cinematography. I can appreciate the art of a great movie. These are made for a completely different reason. It is just for fun. They are not trying to win awards. The scripts are terrible. The story is terrible. The action is fun. Action movies now days take themselves way too seriously. They always have to be smart or some kind of catch thrown in. This takes you back to the old days of action movies. Where they didn't need a complicated plot or great special effects. It is purely nostalgic. I do not see why anyone that grew up watching these same action heroes would not want to see these movies. I agree they are bad but awesomely bad.
Flopped, lol. Yeah Sly, you might wanna try to get Jackie Chan on board again. I haven't seen 3 yet, anyone?
Thought the 2nd one was pretty fun. This one made the mistake of pushing all the oldtimers to the side or out of the picture for a large stretch of time for the "new blood" who are all about as bland and boring as you can imagine. Snipes and Banderas are pretty damn good, especially the latter.
It might be pirate bait. i think with expendables 2, whoever downloaded via torrent got letters from the ISP .
Did the PG-13 rating have anything to do with drop? Also it came out on a weekend when Turtles and Galaxy are still going strong.
Probably so, if it'd come out in Mid September with no real competition it probably would have done better. Bigger blockbusters out there that people want to to see and the novelty of the franchise has kind of passed....
the DVD quality leak that came out 3 weeks before the theatrical release probably had something to do with it. The Movie wasn't visual enough to be a you-have-to-see-it-in-theaters movie so that leak was pretty damaging. people making a big deal about the R to PG-13 action I don't get. It's virtually the same stuff except you dont see a knife penetrate, or a head lopped off and less swearing.
