http://screenrant.com/doctor-strange-benedict-cumberbatch-tom-hardy/ Either of these two would be fantastic. Though Cumberbatch is a better actor, imo.
It will be interesting to see how they introduce a hero who is relatively unknown to the main stream marvel film fan without an origin story.
At this point I'm comfortable with whatever they do in the MCU. Play around with the formula so it isn't stale, they've done a great job so far.
Doctor Strange's origin and story is basically a mirror of Tony Stark face-lifted with mystics and magic instead of a hi-tech iron suit.
I realize that, which means Marvel is handling some "mutants" and I was interested to see how that would play out. I know they wont be referred to as mutants but their powers will have to explained somehow. Hopefully there will be more to it than calling them "miracles".
I doubt this. For one, I think most of the significant mutants are tied up in the rights to the X-Men (i.e. they aren't enough mutants that will be in the MCU for them to create a general rule). Second, making them inhumans may create ties to other characters that would have unintended consequences.
You "doubt" this? Are they just going to keep calling them miracles? Does that make any sense? What unintended consequences? They can make up whatever stories they like. They don't, and won't be getting the rights to mutants for the foreseeable future. Why do you think they're promoting the franchises they own so hard? You don't see them promoting fantastic four anymore, do you?
Well, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch would be Inhumans for one. Quicksilver and Crystal marrying was scandalous* because Quicksilver wasn't an Inhuman. They may make Quicksilver and SW Inhumans because they do have ties with the Inhumans, already, even if it will change the dynamic some. I think the MCU will deal with mutants on a case by case basis on how to handle their origins. *maybe not the right word.
Slim chances, but I could see Marvel getting to rent out a few mutants if it's something they really want to explore. Disney is probably against it but the actors, studios and directors all seem to want it. The idea of a Captain America movie with Wolverine could generate a ton of money and exposure for both sides. Raising tide elevates all ships. It could also deliver a blow to DC's emerging universe. Marvel might also look at licensing some of the lesser known, unused mutants, like Guido or Forge from Fox. Fox gets money, Marvel gets to flesh out the concept of mutants. Whedon has done well with it in the past.
I didn't think of that. I'm sure they could find some other way to make it work though. I'll believe it when I see it. I think there's a much better chance of Disney buying Warner Brothers / DC than there is of a Fox/Marvel movie together. Maybe they let Hugh Jackman be Wolverine in an Avengers movie, but I can't see and AvX type thing where they profit share. It just would blow my mind.
I'd rather see Tom Hardy as Cable in an X-Force movie. Bonus points if they can film the entire movie without ever letting the audience see any feet.
I think a Wolvie/Cap movie would be amazing. Studios lease out their rights- look at Roger Rabbit and Wreck It Ralph. I'm pretty sure that they're making QS and SW's powers originate from either Loki's staff or an infinity stone.
While a Wolvie/Cap Movie would be awesome, I don't expect Marvel to want X-Men to be a part of MCU. Quicksilver can slip by as he isn't that big a character in the X-Men universe. I could see Marvel potentially trying to lease characters from another studio if they weren't in the other studio's plans. I think you are probably right on QS and SW's powers. The use of "or" is interesting as Loki's staff may be an infinity stone (small chance) or get its power from an infinity stone (I consider this likely).
It isn't an infinity stone. They already said in the movies that it derives it's power from the Tesseract; which is a stone.
Which movie said that? I've always assumed it got its powers from the Tesseract, but don't recall it being explicitly stated. On it being a stone, I've seen some rumors that it may be the mind stone based on its powers, but as I said I see this as doubtful.
seclusion, I was reading about Phase 3 last night and they may use the Inhumans to make social commentary like Fox uses mutants in the X-Men series. QS and SW have been confirmed by Marvel that they will not be Inhumans earlier this year.
