Also, I'd have to say Rocky III was good entertainment too. Not too bad.

Ok. Thinking about it some more. Rocky II had a good ending too.

As I look back on it, the Rocky series is joked about a lot, and seemingly with Jaws almost brought the entire sequel drama to it's knees, but generally speaking, all of the films delivered entertainment except for the 5th clunker even if not delivering critical acclaim. There are huge chunks of each movie that were terrible, but there are also juge chicks of each movie that are fun and inspiring, which is really odd to think about, but leaving a general good feeling when walking out.

To me, the greatest thing about Rocky III (and even Rocky IV) aside from the other story (like Mickey dying, etc.) was just the transformation of Rocky's body from I and II where he had much more body fat to then become so lean and toned (basically...he looked like a machine). And, his smarts improved a little in III - IV whereas he was kind of dumb in I-II. Then, after he fought Drago in IV and came back in V, he seemed real dumb again I think because of the beating he took as per the story line. I will be interested to see how they portray him in this film when I see it.

The part that still bothers me is in II when Mickey was demonstrating how Rocky couldn't see punches coming out of his right eye. Then, that issue just mysteriously vanished when Apollo started ragging on the Italian Chicken to get him back in the ring. I mean...if your eye is screwed up like that and you are partially blind...it just doesn't fix itself because you want to fight again. Are we to assume Rocky fought from then on with a huge handicap of being mostly blind in his right eye? Sure, just fiction. What I found kind of funny was the issue was with his right eye but I noticed his left eye lid hanging partially over his left eye I think in I. So, he must have had issues with both eyes? LOL

That's all Maryse Alberti. Lady is legit. She has the stylized documentary feel look perfected.

Finally saw this...agree with most points..I wasn't too crazy over Pretty Ricky though..hopefully they do a sequel with a more intimidating opponent..more villain, like Dolph was.

I also think they need to introduce a new character...someone that can be a Pauly type. Maybe an old friend of his from when he was detained, who's constantly in trouble and needs help. A big name, say Gordon-Levitt would greatly boost the franchise.

They should be able to knock out a trilogy. Rocky goes into remission next, then can't beat cancer in the third film.

I was confused as how the kid was creeds son... Didn't Apollo die in the early 80s?

Really enjoyed stallones acting surprising. His character moments were funny and moving, Micheal b Jordan not so much. Unlike the original rocky movies, the main character in this film, was not all that interesting likeable or relatable imo. Rocky was a non talented down on his luck not too smart meat head who never gave up. Micheal b was a kid who grew up with wealth and education after being rescued from juve as a child. His character is loud, entitled, impulsive and display little self control in and out of the ring.

Micheal b performance as a boxer was however very convincing and the best thing about the film imo was his relationship with rocky.

So it looks like Creed 2 has been greenlit.

Stallone will of course be a part of it. They are not sure about the director at this point since Coogler is signed on for the Black Panther movie. If he can't I would be all for Stallone directing himself.

It's stated early on in the film that he is the illegitimate son of Apollo, born shortly before Creed was killed by Drago and raised by Apollo's wife.

I understand that, the confusion comes from the timeline. If he was born shortly after Apollo was killed in 1983-84? He'd be atleast 30 years old now wouldn't he?

I guess in their time line. . . maybe Apollo died in 1986
And Creed is set in 2012

    *shrug*

Why do you think the movie isn't just in 2015? He was college educated mid level employed. Could easily be 30.

hmm didnt think of that, but it'd make sense.

for some reason i just assumed he was 21 or 22 maybe because of the way he acts.

but i guess him being 29 or so could work.
