If you mean what I think you mean by 'show'...then no, not necessarily. But that scene was funny as hell. As was 'Pillowpants'. (IIRC)
That's true, but you wouldn't know when you see a bunch of parents watching the movie with their pre-teen/young teen kids. I understand it's their choice to do so, but I thought I would still warn people that it's not a 'family friendly' movie, just in case anyone was wondering. Some movies get an 'R rating' for a couple of curse words sprinkled here and there, but this movie is pretty much an hour-and-a-half of vulgar, vulgar language. Anyways, you're right, it's a moot point, the movie is rated 'R'...and they mean it.
Definitely... if there's a rating between R and NC-17, this one would deserve it. Frankly, I'm all for movie theaters enforcing the ratings policy on movies (like they're apparently doing with this one... people were carded at the ticket line, and at the door for the theater)... it keeps the little neanderthals from spoiling a good movie by constantly whining to go to the bathroom, or constantly kicking your chair.
That black chick was way hotter than the blonde chick. One funny aspect of the movie that was overlooked was that deathtrap playground outside of Mooby's. Not only was it situated on top of concrete, but it had a merry-go-round (pretty much the most unsafe playground apparatus ever) and a swing set that was right next to some parking spaces. It was just one of those little quirks that brought a little smile. I think it would have been funny if Kevin Smith had worked in a scene where a kid flies off the merry-go-round or gets smacked by a car while swinging on the swing set. Maybe it will be a deleted scene on the DVD.
Hey, she's not just black! She's Cuban, Puerto Rican, Native American, and Irish. If only there were more like her. And yeah, it was pretty odd to see a mother walk in with her 14, 15 year old daughter...definitely something I couldn't imagine was comfortable. But hey, they laughed.
Damn good movie. Probably going to see it again Monday. I'd go as far to say it was probably even better than Clerks I.
Don't diss Kevin's wife btw, the kid that Dante was looking at the window, is their daughter, Harley, who was also playing the Baby Silent Bob in Jay and Silent Bob Strikes back. That is one huge 7 year old. I would go as far saying that it was better than the first. The first had ALOT of witty dialogue in which made the movie. This one had that and more, along with a subplot. I think the actor that played Elias, Trevor Fehrman, deserves the most credit as he played his part to perfection.
there was a row of about 8 or 9 younger guys, maybe underage, right in front of me. during the a$$ to mouth bit, i hear one of the guys asking, "hey would you do a$$ to mouth", and his friend answers, "maybe but i don't know what it means."
I would have liked to seen some more followup on Caitlin Bree's and/or Veronica's situations. Also surprised there wasn't a "Rick Derris banged _____" reference. That was a staple of the early Askewniverse movies. Still awesome movie. By far Kevin Smith's funniest (IMHO). Going to see it again later today.
I am looking forward to this one, but it did get an unfavorable rating on the BBS at www.moviepoopchute.com
How much would that Mustang Rosario Dawson was driving cost? I was wondering how a chick working in a fast food restaurant could afford a car like that. Even if she bought it when it was rusted out and broke down, restoring it to that good of a condition would cost a bunch of money...
these poor deprived kids, they dont even know what an ATM transfer is? doubt they know what a creampie is as well not sure of the title, but its the one that buffalo bill dances to in silence of the lambs.
I'd guess between $6,000 and $7,000 depending on the engine and what kind of condition it was in. It was obviously a daily driver and there didn't appear to be anything special about it. And, I doubt that that was factory paint. Still a nice '66 Mustang, though.
Pillowpants! Haha...that movie was by far better than the first, and one of the funniest movies I've seen lately. The retelling of LOTR was absolutely hilarious. The banter was just perfect. And the new character "Elias" played perfectly off the general crudeness of the flick. I give it 4/4.
