With the 4-level dream sequences and the full circle in the latter part plus the hanging ending which makes you think after the movie is over...the best one I've watched this year . I'm very impressed
No difference whatsoever. It's virtually a shot-for-shot remake. In fact, everyone should just avoid their creepily laughing cinema neighbors who bring their crying babies and overnight the Dreamscape Blu-Ray from Amazon, $10.49, instead. (If you didn't like Memento because you thought it was a gimmick, you might not like this one. It's a gimmick within gimmick Spoiler within gimmick within gimmick within gimmick within gimmick . And there's no Kate Capshaw-level eye candy to distract you from that fact.)
Spoiler As to your first point, I remember a specific point early in the movie when Cobb is in a room (his hotel room, I think) and he spins his top. He's got his gun up resting against the side of his head as if he intended to use it. At the time, the audience doesn't know why, but the top does definitely stop spinning and topple, so he puts the gun down. I don't see how the entire thing could be a dream then, unless the creation of his totem is somehow all part of that dream (and he said it was his wife's idea to create the totem, so I don't think that could be the case). Your second point is a good one. Saito and his wife said the same thing...however, I think this was more a choice by the director/writer to link the two situations in our mind, thematically, than to give indication that the entire movie is a dream. Your third point confuses me. Why would he create a scenario of having kids that he is disappointing by not being home in the first place?
Nolan sneaked into the Arclight theater and it messed up! hehe http://www.youtube.com/user/SamWorthingtonAvatar
After watching it a second time I was reminded that DiCaprio runs like a girl. I'm sure no one else here hasn't noticed.
considering the amount of movies made in our lifetimes, theres never going to be a movie made thats completely original. everything will have some influence one thing or another. the notion of going into someone else's dream isnt original, im sure most ppl have thought of that growing up as kids even, but to use that idea, and to combine it with all the other things going on in this movie, with the way he tells the story, i just cant see how ppl can complain.

Quentin Tarantino has made a living off making movies composed of other movies. Where he succeeds, and Nolan fails, is in contriving something completely new. One doesn't get a sense of novelty with Inception. You can immediately trace it's source materials, Dreamsacpe + Matrix + James Bond + Shutter Island.
Spoiler Was anyone surprisingly spooked by Mal? When she noticed Ellen Page stalking in the elevator, it almost made me jump out of my seat, and then both of the times she was in the hotel room. She was so possessed/obsessed with the idea that this world is fake. The actress did a great job of selling it.
IMO, this movie will do for JGL career what TDK would have done for Heath Ledger's career. He had a great performance and if he truly does get the part of the Riddler in the next Batman installment then WATCH OUT.
I can trace the source material for Reservoir Dogs by Tarintino easily. It's a remake of the Chinese movie City on Fire. Almost scene for scene.
Spoiler Man, its funny you say that, because when that city folded in half, or when the zero gravity rotating hotel fight was happening I was totally thinking "How played out is this sh**!
I love how any time something is well received, the internet has to pounce on it. Also that Dreamscape movie looks awful. I havent seen it but I dont want to. And besides the dream thing, they look like they have nothing in common.
