The Empire/Vader won in The Empire Strikes Back. I gotta say that I found Killmonger boring and cliched. If they would have spent 5 minutes on footage of more of his background outside of the LA scene it might have fleshed him out more for me and made him more sympathetic. He definitely wasn’t a sociopath as he had anger and revenge as part of his motivation. Finally, Jordan just isn’t the actor that the Nolan villains were.
No, I'd just say your tastes are different. There are folks who think Pulp Fiction is overrated too. Not me, I'm not a moron.
He doesn't get a lot of play, but I think Baron Zemo, in CA: Civil War, has been one of the most interesting and complex villians since Ledger's Joker. He didn't have goofy super powers, he had a real and legitimate motive, and his character had depth. Plus, the end where Bilbo Baggins says "How does it feel to lose?" And Zemo says: "Did I lose?" -- that stuck with me. He's an article that supports this idea: http://collider.com/captain-america-civil-war-zemo/
Going to have to disagree with you on this one. While I agree Klaw shouldn't have been killed off so easily, your list is definitely off. Thanos -- yeah fo sho, but it's ****ing Thanos in the culmination of all MCU movies. Red Skull -- yeah, but Red Skull was always going to be more interesting than Killmonger. Killmonger's motivations are way more unique than Red Skull's generic world domination bullshit though. Winter Soldier -- yep, Bucky is my ****. Abomination -- nah. Iron Monger -- nuh uh. Loki -- well, yeah. Hela -- maybe. I liked her. again, generic motivations. Vulture -- sure, but Keaton is dope. Kaecilius -- definitely not. Ultron -- I'm kind of mixed on this one, I like Spader but I really question how Whedon handled Ultron. I thought he was more menacing without his mouth moving and ****. Anyway, an Avengers movie SHOULD have a better villain than a stand-alone origin film.
Just saw the movie...thought it was good ...solid 7/10. Bree larsons acting was stiff and mechanical at times ...trying too hard to be the tough no non sense type...but she had a good moment here and there. I thought the supporting cast carried her...Sam Jackson was awesome, and I thought Jude Law did Pretty good as well. It’ll be interesting to see how they tie her in to endgame. The twist was decent enough in the movie to keep it interesting. But she seems OP in the Marvel universe...maybe that’s why they pulled out the big guns here at the end for Thanos.
Hate Brie Larson. Saw her once at a film fest gala and asked I could take a picture with her. She said she doesn't take pictures with fans. Can't stand actors/actresses like this. Who do they think makes their careers successful?
Agreed with your list more or less except I don't agree with Captain Marvel being that low and you leaving out the Incredible Hulk, the best movie of all time makes your list null and void. Also, I disagree with Winter Soldier being above Infinity War. Russos movies are in order of appearance also in order of greatness: Winter Soldier -> Civil War -> Infinity War. It stands to reason that Endgame will be their best movie yet. Disagree, fight me.
Aside from Century City bankers, entertainment reporters and broadcast ad salesmen on Thursday night, the millions of normies who pay their three fiddy and watch the mailed recordings hundreds and thousands of miles away.
I thought the Norton Hulk movie was pretty entertaining. It was way better than the Bana one. It’s higher on my list than the first Captain America, the first 2 Thors, and Iron Man 2 and 3. It’s probably better than the ant man movies also.
Ah **** good call that’s an obvious one. Wasn’t all his self inflicted scarring about his kill count? That’s pretty sociopathic bro. And he was a legit threat to BP, not just someone destined to be overpowered. And his final scene and all the commentary it made! Come on you guys are killing me, BP was easily one of their best efforts. Honestly, BP2 is probably going to be a let down because it’s got a high bar set for it. I finally just saw Thor/ragnorok. It was def the best Thor movie but they just went super campy with it. I don’t remember his other movies being like that but it’s been many moons since I watched them. If that’s the kind of movie people were expecting captain marvel to be I get why they didn’t like the tone of it.
Incredible Hulk was ****ing AWESOME imo. I'm a big fan of Hulk and Ed Norton though. I like Ruffalo a lot, but I still believe Norton was the best Banner. There's an alternate universe somewhere that Norton is in Endgame, and I bet it's ****ing epic. Haha.
He didn't lose. Zemo was one of the best characters - not just villains - in the MCU. They did such a great job with him and wove a fantastic story around him. I'm glad that he bucked the villain trend and is still around in the MCU!
dam with so many "meh" reviews here, I tried to stream he movie but it was still schitte with a 3 second delayed audio. fuuuuu it seems like in the 2000s we could easily get screenings online.
In defense of this movie, aside from Iron Man, all of the solo debuts have been pretty meh. Some a little better than others, but none special IMO. I think requiring so much exposition and character building drags them down. Hopefully they can build on her like they have been so good at.
Solid Marvel Comic Book Movie: not great, not terrible, I had fun. Since nobody asked, these are the very fun movies: Avengers: Infinity War Thor: Ragnarok Iron Man Captain America: Winter Soldier Guardians of the Galaxy Captain America: Civil War Marvel's The Avengers Black Panther Doctor Strange Captain Marvel Spider-Man: Homecoming Captain America: The First Avenger Ant-Man And all the other movies, in no order: Ant-Man and Wasp (haven't seen it) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Avengers: Age of Ultron Thor: The Dark World Iron Man 3 Thor Iron Man 2 The Incredible Hulk
