Howard Stark was a great character too. Red Skull - Hugo was good. I give it a solid 3.5 out of 5. I was entertained. Rocket River
I enjoyed Green Lantern more... 5.9/10 Only redeeming part of the movie were TLJ's character and the Avengers trailer. Captain America is the weak link leading up to The Avengers, every other film has been satisfactory or better.
I also thought this movie was kind of cheesy. Had big expectations. Did you guys stay till after the credits to see the avengers sneak peak?
It replaces Iron Man as my new favorite superhero movie. Spoiler Thought the Avengers trailer was stupid, was expecting something that I won't see a million times on tv in the next year. It wasn't even a good trailer, they just showed flashes of the characters that were too quick to follow or digest. Loved the Human Torch cameo at the World's Fair.
Sorry dude, wasn't even thinking. Edited my posts for the benefit of others, but they're still in your quotes.
Agreed...Tommy Lee was great as was Chris E, and I didn't think of the human torch at all...I enjoyed it ...thought it was better than Thor and I loved that movie...It was definitely better than Green Lantern...

I felt like this was a really solid movie. Thor was very good as well. But I enjoyed Cap more than Thor.
It was crap. If you disagree with that statement, you're crap too. I like how inclusive the army was. A freaking Jap and a black guy serving inclusively in the army back then.... ok sure. They totally dropped the ball on using the wealth of historical context to serve and highten the story. Freaking laser guns? Freakin freak that. Ahhhhhhhhggggg. At least Joss Whedon is in charge of the Avengers. That's the only reason I'm still interested after the turd that was Captain America. I wouldn't care one way or another if I didn't really enjoy Thor and Iron Man. Such a letdown. Freaking laser guns?
Like how Hitler's just tossed aside. Because clearly a charismatic, paranoid dictator with a massive army can't quell a rebellious scientist, or hell let alone put up a fight? And another thing, why did he label the little bombs/missles, would the Chicago fbomb not work on NY? Lastly, I hate how they make it seem all the US needed to do was crash a plane to win WWII, they make it seem like the war was a cakewalk, if you ask me, that's insulting to the men who died fighting the war.
lol you guys are taking this wayyy too seriously. It's like you go to the movies to nitpick every single thing you can. You understand that the "freaking jap and black guy" were written that way in the comics right? As far as the laser guns go, every single modern adaptation of the avengers/captain america show flash backs of that time period with Hydra using similar weapons. The whole point is to create the superpower of Hydra as one of the main antagonists (along with loki, skrulls, etc..) of the Marvel universe. They are supposed to have had ridiculous technology back then. That's like complaining about why Iron Man is using laser guns and shizz. It's not possible now...why does it make it better?
Not much in the way of spoilers, but just in case: Spoiler They barely explained any of his training, if they explained it at all. He went from being unable to do a pushup into what amounted to a 'handsome chamber,' where he got handsome and ran kinda fast for a minute or two. Then they rushed through his figure head/poster boy days, which somehow managed to drag ass. The only explanation of his powers and abilities was when he was couldn't get drunk and whats-her-name said his metabolism ran at 4x the normal rate. Then he ran fast a few times and jumped across a gap. Big effin' deal. I've seen Rambo do that in every Rambo movie ever. It was more exciting and more 'super' seeing Tim Roth's character battling Hulk after he got juiced up on the Super Soldier Serum. If you can't make a movie both good and fun, at least go for one or the other. Captain American was just bad.
That's right, he's got it all, folks! Typos! Racial Slurs! Inability to suspend disbelief when going to a movie that happens in a fictional universe that has people who fly and can turn into living fire and rock! Failure to to follow basic plot! Did we mention typos? He's got everything! Come one, come all!!!
I had high expectations and I didn't think it was great. The story didn't really make me buy in, just kinda ran from one scene to the next. I thought this movie was going to be great, but it was just okay. Thor was better and Iron Man remains the best of the bunch.
Why would you care about laser guns? There is a guy with a big red skull for a head, a hero juiced up on super soldier serum, and even some nordic god artifact, and you care about laser guns? I'll give the movie a 5 out of 10. I would of liked to have seen Captain America give it to more Nazis. Nazis are the most universally recognized bad guys in history and everyone loves seeing them get slapped around. Not some faceless goons in gas masks (the Hydra soldiers). There was no reason to distance the bad guys from the Nazis. I also don't like it when movies feel the need to explain everything to me. I don't need to be spoon fed lines like "you never give up kid" a hundred times. A simple display of this fact is enough. The movie lays it on too thick.
