Awesome. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. I trust your opinion, sir. Your expectations mirror my own.
So, ah, the friend who said he had tickets? He was under the impression that it was an advance screening tonight. But, it turns out that it's for next Thursday, with all the other yokels. Sorry to let you down, guys. But I can make up a review: Awesome movie, lots of shirts off and man-pec love.
Lol, I keep forgetting this movie comes out this month. I keep assuming its a summer type release and then I remember that they are afraid of Civil War
Haven't seen it in a very long time. I'm kind of an eye candy guy so I tend to go for more modern stuff. I actually didn't hate Man of Steel (though I definitely had issues with it). So either that or Superman 2, ya.
Superman II was indisputably the best Superman movie so far. The only one that comes close is Superman: The Movie (Christopher Reeve's first). Here's hoping Batman v Superman tops it but Man of Steel certainly didn't and Superman Returns REALLY didn't.
I wonder when is the last time any of you guys actually WATCHED those Donner Superman movies. The have NOT aged well at all, bordering now on being unwatchable. Yeah I know, it's hard to make an essentially omnipotent and invulnerable character into a movie which has any drama around it at all. I suspect BvS will do that, if only because I know the basic gist of the story from the Dark Knight Returns graphic novel. But those Donner movies.. ugh, I was never really a fan, and the glimpses of them I see now are just so.. hokey. And giving Superman the ability to undo ANY event simply by flying really fast in the opposite direction of the Earth's spin, thus reversing time in the entire universe.. just.. no. Not saying I have any great love for Superman Returns, or Man of Steel as such.. just that it's probably the hardest movie-making task, trying to make a compelling drama with a protagonist who has no real antagonists.
