LOL, I am the same way. I am going to try to be cautious the same way I was with Prometheus. Hopefully people here will use the SPOILER tags when necessary.
Here we go, this is from the press screening in NYC that ended couple hours ago: From The Shape - ''Wow. Quite speechless at the moment, but i'll say that TDKR was everything I wanted it to be. I'll post up on SHH when I get home. "I will say some fans will find certain aspects controversial, but in my eyes, everything in the film fit the overall scheme of this installment and the series in general and Nolan really couldn't have mad it any more epic" According to JoBlo: "THE DARK KNIGHT RISES TEST SCREENING RECEIVES A STANDING OVATION" Just finished the screening of Dark Knight Rises...so much awesome...can't wait to see it again. And again. https://twitter.com/TomMcAuliffe/sta...88483812159489 Notfabio: expect a lot of reviews tonight from major publishers Just saw the Dark Knight Rises. Its the best ending to a series that I've seen. https://twitter.com/NolanRoberts/sta...68185540861954[/url] <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Zs4ADqk7DbA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
!!!!!!!!!!!!! God I cannot wait for this damn movie. I have never been so out of my mind for a film in my life as I am this one. I am getting an impression that this movie will set a standard for future films to come!
No, it's 'Back to the Future' and ***** you for suggesting otherwise. Seriously though, can't people even wait for something to come out before speculating on it's place in history? Crazy expectations just increase the possibility you'll be disappointed in some way.
Well in my defense I have never seen Back to the Future. Lol The track record for these Batman movies just seems to suggest it'll be great. I'm probably overhyping but I honestly feel it will be better than The Dark Knight. Hell, I enjoyed Batman Begins more than the second one. The only way I'll be disappointed is if all of a sudden we learn Schumacher was involved in this production or Nolan is trolling us by making it a musical. Needless to say I am very excited for these next two weeks to pass already.
Totally avoiding reading anything in this thread right now, but just wanted to post that I just pre-ordered my DKR IMAX tickets for the 20th. Can't freaking wait!
I don't think the poster was serious but lol at Back to the Future being the best trilogy ever. The first one was great but the other two were terrible.
Man. Can it really be perfect? Could Nolan have done this thing flawlessly? The curse of 3 truly over? Wow.
Spoiler Free review. Still wouldn't read if you are doing a complete blackout http://manarchymag.com/core/2012/07/dark-knight-rises-sneak-review/ Also more impressions: Comicbookmovie.com - "THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Receives Standing Ovation At First Screening" http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/ ... s/?a=63076 It's official. #TheDarkKnightRises is ****ing amazing. It received a standing ovation from the screening this morning (all critics). "All I can say is....be ready to be hit REAL hard in The Dark Knight Rises. Very emotional and powerful. Blows TDK out of the water." https://twitter.com/#!/NikoTiapula Friend after watching TDKR: “I never thought I’d get to say in my lifetime that TWO Batman movies deserve Best Picture Oscars.” Another friend: “Now I understand why Nolan is walking away. With a two punch combo like TDK/TDKR, the fight’s over. Knockout.” https://twitter.com/AustinMovieSnob/sta ... 6803499009 Critic after The Dark Knight Rises screening: “If this does not break the mold and win Best Picture, no comic book movie ever will.” #TDKR https://twitter.com/cmfcknw/statuses/221397388630298624 First there was the LOTR trilogy and now we have the TDK trilogy. Masterpieces.
No best for a bunch of little gay Hobbits prancing towards a volcano. No best for any trilogy that has Katie Holmes and Sad Cartoon Turtle Only one best trilogy ever. The Dollars Trilogy muthaf-ckers!
What do you think of the original source material for the first two films??? Leone remade Kurosawa's Yojimbo and Sanjuro
If I'm not mistaken Akira was inspired by American westerns, particularly John Fords. Doesn't matter who inspired who but I like the whole circular inspiration. American westerns inspire Japanese Samaurai films which in turn inspire Italian Western films.
Yeah, to me the best filmmaker coming from the East/West would have to be Kubrick/Kurosawa... I love Western/Samurai/ especially love Spaghetti western.. Spaghetti western to me might have the best ost to any film genre I've ever heard, it's just awesome and the movies are made cheap but they're pretty hardcore and weird like Django original version and Django kill which came out in 1968 I think.. I think you can buy them on bluray right now.... I seriously can't wait for QT version of Spaghetti Western...
