It's being reported all over the place from various trusted sources, news comes from an official press release from Warners.
This is going to turn into a mega 20 page thread on anne hatheway and while you nerds gossip about that, I will go and get laid... oh and can hatheway fight??? Can she do action scenes???
Little suprised they went with catwoman but love the choice, she fits spot on. Love Bane, thought Hardy would be perfect for the role. Always thought Bane was to Batman as Bizzaro is to Superman...alter egos in a way.
Damn, I was hoping Kate Beckinsdale (from Underworld) or Diane Kruger (from inglorious Basterds) would've been better and hotter.
I don't like either villain. I can already picture the plot, Strange does stuff to gig Batman, he creates Bane to go after him, Catwoman provides some tension/interest now that whats-her-face burned. Sigh. Is Bay directing this one? If not, and it's still Nolan, then there is hope.
Thumbs up for Hardy Major thumbs down for Hathaway. Not right in the slightest for the role. Nolan is garbage picking his female leads. Halfway interesting plotline with Strange creating Bane to chase after Batman. That, and Kate Beckinsale is a 10.
I don't really know much about either villain, but my two cents Liked Hardy from Inception, guess I'll like him in this movie. Hathaway is hot but I'd probably be down with any hot actress (beckinsale, kruger etc.), especially after choosing ugly Maggie Gyllenhaal as Bruce's love interest in TDK (wtf?)
Is it because Anne was once in the princess diaries that people are not liking the selection? She has grown up as an actress and can pull off the sexy selina kyle. In "love and other drugs", she's naked and having sex throughout most of the movie. I like the selection.
I have no problem with Hathaway being cast as catwoman... I just don't like the idea of having catwoman and bane in this movie. I don't see how it's possible to have those two villains (and a total of three villains) in this movie without it being ridiculously stupid.
They've already done it twice and it's worked nicely. Batman Begins - Scarecrow, Ra's Al Ghul and Falcone Dark Knight - Joker, Two-Face and Maroni Curious about Hugo Strange, doesn't appear to be the villian afterall?
Don't get your hopes up on a decent Catwoman. Nolans track record shows he's not a very good writer or director of women.
I always picture Catwoman as sleek and lithe and fit ala Phieffer/Jolie/Theron/Portman. You know, like a cat. Hathaway is not that. She is more in the soft and voluptuous mold. But as others have said, Ledger was thought of as a strange choice at first, and he turned out great.
I always wanted to see a big screen portrayal of Bane that's true to the character (the whole outsmarting/breaking Batman angle).
They can't have Bane in unless they have him break Batman's back. This is gonna be something. Boo on Catwoman
